**Great Food, But Portions Have Shrunk**…read more My girlfriend and I love Rekado. We first ate here last year and were amazed by their kare-kare and lechon kawali. Fast forward to this year, I brought my girlfriend and my brother to eat again. While the food was still delicious, the portions were significantly smaller--about 50% less. I posted a comparison of the kare-kare and lechon kawali dishes: on the left is April 2023, and on the right is May 2024. You can see that the portions have literally halved or more. Additionally, this time, the kare-kare had only one piece with actual meat, and it was very little. When we visited, there was an event, and we asked the server how long it would take for the food. The estimate was 15-20 minutes, but the food arrived in 25-30 minutes. It would have been fine if our expectations had been set correctly from the start, so we could have ordered appetizers since we were already hungry. Overall, the food is still delicious, but please improve the portion sizes.

The options are not as wide as the other buffet places, but you do get your money's worth. The dishes were well-planned and was generously refilled. The fee comes with unlimited tea too. They served steamed purple rice, curried fish, lechon paksiw, chopsuey (with organically-grown vegfies from their own farm), fried spring roll, lato (seaweed) salad, eggplant in coconut milk, kinilaw na pork belly, and more. I liked tgeir cake dessert. It was a chiffon cake that looked a littke like cassava cake. It was not very sweet, whixh waa how I liked it. I found the sweetened banana Saba to be a little sweet. Unhappy service gives bad taste to the food. We ordered an appetizer platter which included fries but they tried to fit quesadillas, chicken wings, chicken tenders, and barbecue fries into this medium sized plate so I definitely expected a bigger size. I shouldn't be able to count how many fries are on my plate. That's what you get for 200 pesos though. The fries were seasoned just right and the wings were well marinated in sweet chili sauce. Then we also got the caramel cheesecake with cookie bits and wow, the plating fit the taste! Perfection.
