Everything about this wonderful place is focused on quality and the smells were just glorious. There were four of us and a dog but the dog wasn't allowed to rest up inside for long. I ordered up a few different coffees and we sat outside in the cold - my flat white was superb. I chose to add champagne truffles on the side to go with our drinks and from memory it was £4 or £1 per truffle. When I ordered up two boxes of truffles to go at around £16/17 each I was warned that they would only last 10 days as there's no artificial additives so this was music to my ears - real, fresh made, exquisite food made with loving care. I reassured the friendly server that they wouldn't survive the next 10 days. They didn't survive three days. I opted to put identical chocolates into each box. I chose brandy, ginger, gin and a few others and they were all just superb. The alcohol was notable and made them truly delicious and the ginger was an exquisite balance of flavour and spice warmth. It had a little bit of crystallised ginger which really enhanced and maximised taste. I also got a few brownies including a raspberry one. Just so good. The staff were all charming and these are the places we must support and even more so now.

It is a premium chocolate brand, so the items are more suited for gifts than your day-to-day chocolate needs. The store inside seemed to match the high-end brand, it was presentable and modern, and the staff seemed average. They even had some of their own brand of alcoholic spirits too which sounded interesting. Sadly they didn't seem to be any sampling going on in-store on my recent visit. Opening Hours are in line with other shops in the town, closing at 17:30 Monday to Saturday, and an hour earlier on Sundays - not great but seems to be a problem throughout Harrogate's town centre. 4*

The chocolate shop is all about luxury and ideal if you are looking for a special gift or just want to treat yourself (and quite rightly too). The hand-crafted jewellery is by mum and daughter design combo Kathie and Hattie Grimes. The jewellery has a very unique form and delicate. Types of jewellery iclude bracelets, earrings, necklaces and rings. The little showroom/ workshop nestles under the eaves of the Grade 11 listed shop on the first floor. Downstairs is the chocolatier part of the shop with a wide wide range of traditional sweets. My favourite are the chocolate farmyard including a milk chocolate owl, a white chocolate sheep, a white chocolate green frog, a milk hedge hog, two white chocolate pink pigs and two mice, one milk and one white. I can tell you that personally. This place is like a Thorntons, like a Hotel Chocolate, only more indie, more personalised and more beautiful because of that. They serve all the specialised chocolate treats that you might hope for and expect including truffles, bon bon chocolates, chocolate creams of all flavours, chocolates with liqueur filling. Oh. God! It's chocolate heaven. The staff are friendly and they've lots of lovely box sets to choose from! A delightful store that will put a smile on anyone's face, and it'll be a killer choice for Valentine's day!

Like a kid in a candy store... that's me! I don't think my trip to Lake District is ever complete…read morewithout a stop to this chocolate shop! While I've had a number of their truffles and have loved each one... my favourite are their violet creams! Theirs are just perfection... the dark chocolate is just the right thickness and snaps when you bite into it allowing the cream to ooze out, but a very slow, it-isn't-going-to-end-up-on-my-shirt sort of ooze. The violet cream inside is nicely flavoured and it is creamy, not this crumbly, soap-like stuff you get at other places. I usually get a small bag to take with me and ration out for the next couple of weeks and surprisingly they hold up!
