Beautiful Dench sourdough breads (also available to purchase in whole loaves), perfectly poached eggs, and an interesting menu with beautiful presentation make it a delight to eat here. The coffee is veneziano, made well, and there is usually a single origin coffee available. No filter coffee menu, but the single origin espresso option is usually fresh and enjoyable. And available! Which is spectacular in the outer eastern suburbs, where I am usually met with a blank state when I ask if there is a single origin coffee on offer. They have Larsen and Thompson teas available, but if you like to be specific about how your tea is brewed, be prepared, as they serve them without brew timers. The space is nice, with an outdoor table out the front, some tables inside, and space out the back. It can get busy! Especially on the weekend. The staff are great, though, with service being prompt and friendly, and chatty when it's not too busy. *TL;DR: currently the best specialty coffee cafe in the outer eastern suburbs, so visit!

It was best getting a little bit of everything on one forkful, the salmon, the thyme, the egg and potato rosti. The Sweet Monkey delivered just as well, the roti was crunchy and soft, and all of the toppings went well with it, nothing over the top that masked the others, it just worked. The Vanilla Cronut was good; yes, I've had better ones, both for the purpose of having a cronut, it did it's job. I didn't catch our waitresses name, but every single person here was more than friendly. All of their menu items look creative and tasty. I eyed some of the burgers other tables ordered, they were good portioned and looked good. And skimming over the lunch menu, it definitely is a place to come back to. A part of me thought that I might have been a little to far out from the city to find a hip coffee bar, but it turned out that I wasn't because this place pretty much delivered. A variety of offerings from various cultures all cooked and presented beautifully. The staff were very friendly, accommodating and cheerful. Their dedication to the cafe was obvious. The coffee was good - they buy from a local roaster. Not as spectacular as some coffee places closer to the city, but still drinkable. The cafe had a good atmosphere with expressive art on the walls and different seating options. The prices were extremely reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food that we received. This is definitely a cafe to visit if you're in the area.
