Established in 1997.

My name is Tina Westcott, and I am presently attending SUNY Canton College, acquiring my bachelor’s degree in early childhood care and management. I have been an in-home childcare provider for twenty-seven years, teaching children from six weeks to five years. I went into teaching for the personal satisfaction and reward it provides. As a teacher, I have a chance to change children's lives and impact future generations. I get to ensure that children have a successful start in life and school. A critical aspect of growing up is learning how to accomplish things independently. As an early childhood educator, I witness these children develop and support them as they discover their potential. The best teachers and role model a child can have are their parents. Parents are encouraged to participate in their child's education actively. There is a ton of evidence to support the idea that good communication between parents and teachers positively affects a child's academic achievement.
