A wonderful center. We've been there for almost 3 years now. My 2nd is currently in Pre-K and has been in 3 rooms. The curriculum is well-focused, with appropriate individual attention, without being overly academic. In other words, they learn letters, numbers and some sight words, but they're not being drilled (come on, they're still kids after all!). The class sizes are also reasonable- you won't find huge classes with 3-4 teachers here.
Beth, the director, brings in numerous presenters for 'internal field trips' which the kids love and provides nice enrichment opportunities (Zoo, Science Center, Cooking classes, Librarian, Magic Show, Dance party, etc). There is plenty of time to play and the teachers, especially Ms. Julie (Pre-K) and Ms. Jess (Preschool) are awesome! (BTW- they both have master's degrees in education.) It's definitely worth mentioning they have a large gym inside so the kids still get a change of scenery and physical activity (tricycles and all!) when the weather is too cold/rainy for outdoor play. My only criticism is the food menu, there are some days were I don't see much protein in breakfast/lunch/snack (too many carbs/processed food).
Unlike some other centers in the area, everything is included in the price. All meals, all enrichment activities (there's a small summer fee which is teeny), everything. You won't be hit up with fundraisers or sign up for this and that activity (there are a few if you want Gym Bus or some sports programs but not everyone does it and there is no pressure to do them).
In short, the teachers are loving, both my kids enjoy (for the older, enjoyed!) their time there, and my oldest was well-prepared for kindergarten.
Highly, highly recommend you check them out if you're looking for care in the area. read more
