I have a new respect for estate sale companies after having Alla help me with an estate sale after…read moremy parents passed away. She (and David) really took their time setting everything up and taking pictures, etc. I had already been turned down by another estate sale company because my siblings and I had already cherry-picked the "good stuff" and there just wasn't enough left to have a gangbuster estate sale but Alla agreed to handle it and we actually did quite well. She also agreed to help us get rid of everything after the estate sale was over... trash, unsold items... she put in at least one whole day just making sure that the house was empty and ready for recarpeting, painting, etc. (Not all the companies help with that and I don't think Alla even charged me extra.) Here was the best part... I felt I could trust Alla. There are so many ways that an estate sale can play games. At a certain point, you just have to have confidence that your things are being agressively marketed and reasonably (but not TOO reasonably) priced. I mean, these are not items being sold on ebay to millions of people over the course of weeks... this is a house full of hundreds (or thousands) of items that need to be sold in TWO days. By the way, take a closer look at the other reviews for Paragon. The low star ratings are almost entirely from buys, not sellers. An estate sale has hundreds of buyer's coming though it and there will always be a few people that didn't get their low offer accepted or had a hard time parking or whatever... but coming from the seller's side, Paragon was great.
