The instructor will take you to the point of blissful torture and just when you think you can't do anymore, you're done... then have to do the other side, only this time, you know you survived the first side so you'll survive again. It's fast paced and wrings every drop of sweat out of you, all the while the upbeat instructor is shouting and occasionally singing it lyrics, making this body breaking exercise somehow fun. Then just when you're sure you're going to collapse and every single muscle in your body has been worked out, you suddenly are done, and get to fall to the floor to stretch, suddenly the music is spa like and she is soft spoken and you feel fabulous. You suddenly find yourself wishing it wasn't done. If you're looking for an excellent work out that will challenge you to the bone, this is it. I am all about respect and discipline, but seeing my 4 year old crunch his pants inside his tiny hands from stress, broke my heart. This should be fun. The classes for younger children that my son attends have a good mix of instruction and activities to keep the kids engaged and active. They have a nice area for parents to sit and for my daughter who is not yet old enough for karate to play while her brother trains. I have done martial arts for years and TOKPV came recommended. Looking at the curriculum I can see why. It is a real quality art and the dojo has a family feel to it. They teach good values of hard work and responsible use of the karate.
