My family have been with Lister House Surgery for 13 years. The Doctors range from outstanding to satisfactory; we've had a couple of dreadful medical situations that would have been less serious had the GPs concerned acted more quickly.
However, my real concern is the telephone booking of appointments, or more specifically the woman that answers the phone. She is rude, aggressive, unsympathetic and does not listen. Last year, we had 4 situations where we were unable to be given appointments, even though we were ill, or had been written to by the surgery reminding us to come in for check ups. In addition to this, a health situation which resulted in paramedics being called and them recommending a visit to the nurse in future, resulted in an extraordinary conversation with this woman. She didn't listen to the situation and then set up an appointment with the GP - which wasn't actually booked. The family member concerned, who was very poorly, was taken, in the ice, to the surgery, only to find that there was no appointment.
This woman needs to be removed. read more
