They're made in the back of a pecan orchard right here in Mobile, Alabama. The display featured hand turned bowls, platters, handled mirrors like your grandmother would have used at her vanity, wine stoppers, a pizza cutter, spice grinders, and a few other items. They were all absolutely stunning! The pictures I'm posting do not do them justice! The pieces are made from oak or pecan, and many feature turquoise or brass inlays. The platter sold for $90, and the bowls sold for $130. I didn't price the smaller items because I really had my eyes fixed on that bowl with turquoise inlay. It would certainly impress any dinner guests, and become a coveted family heirloom in years to come. If you can't make it to the Emporium, you can buy these beauties online! Bruce also makes custom order pieces.

There were no cashiers checking anyone out, only several self checkout registers - some small and some larger for those with a lot of items. The staff members we did encounter were friendly. The new location has allowed for more kitchen gifts, which I think is a great niche you don't see in area shops. Need a candle- go here. They have the Elf Magic dolls ( like Elf On A Shelf but way cuter). One Christmas I found a good bit of my Christmas gifts here, even for the men! Great children's gifts- she always knows what's the trendy item that local preteen kids ( or moms!) want.
