Ultimately, you're just looking for the right person who will truly listen, and guide you to understanding yourself better and help you remove the rose colored glasses you've worn for so long. So at long last, you're forced to see the truth and the reality of your circumstances. Our meeting marked the beginning of a long journey towards healing and understanding my behaviors, my blessings and my weaknesses. It's not an easy thing to face, but for the first time I was able to face it with someone who has the grace and strength to tell me exactly what I need to hear, not what I want to hear. She is patient, thoughtful, tough, honest, and calls it like it is. She has always been honest with me, even if it hurts. It's only when we're honest with ourselves that we can truly begin to heal what is broken. It is then that we're able to regenerate the emotional muscles that aid in healing, forgiveness and love. This is why I am most grateful that she has always been a stable force of good in my life. She is quick to respond and always makes time to speak. No one can heal and grow with a sycophant for a therapist. We need someone who will always offer us honesty, challenges our perspectives and motives, and provides us with a safe space to love ourselves, realize our potential and the many gifts we have to offer and find the courage to face our greatest fears head on. And for this, I am truly grateful for Dr. Prager's help and support for all these years.
