Also, we decided relatively last-minute to schedule an engagement photo shoot with Lisa at SF City Hall, and she was kind enough to accommodate us on pretty short notice. And honestly, that made a huuuuge difference. It kept us on track with the photos and not waste time looking out family members. In the last two weeks prior to our wedding, Lisa got on the phone with us multiple times to help us with our timeline. We didn't hire a wedding planner so we had to work with Lisa and our venue coordinator to figure out the logistics of all that we wanted for our day. She was amaaazing. With Lisa's help, my husband and I felt like our wedding went so smoothly. I honestly don't think we could have gotten through our day without her. We went on our honeymoon right after the wedding. And on the flight home, I got an email from Lisa saying that she's done editing our photos. So we got almost 1000 photos back in just two weeks! It was such a nice way to end our trip! A lot of outcomes in life are thanks to luck and timing. And us finding Lisa was due to that. We originally were going with another photographer who was set up to do one of our engagement shoots as well. We still went with him due to his great pricing for the e-shoot, but he let us know that he was moving out of the country due to family in Asia. Where do I start? There are just so many great things about Lisa that it's hard to capture them in words. First of all, my husband and I are not good at planning and gave her very few directions or insights on what we wanted for our wedding pictures. Lisa Stone was the photographer for our wedding in May, and it's taken me this long to be able to even write a review since every time I start to think of my wedding photo's it brings me to tears. During the wedding, my many requests to take pictures of my dress with the bustle of my dress down or to go outside to take pictures with my bridesmaids were all given the simple response of "no." I'm usually pretty easy going and figured that she knew what she was doing and with everything else going on that day I didn't have the time so i just let it go. The photos from my wedding were gloomy and couldn't have possibly been captured at worst moments. From what I was told by two other photographers that I tried to have edit the photos after (thinking that may help) it was not even possible because the camera settings were set on such high contrast that even with editing they could not be fixed. I had done a photo shoot two weeks before with another photographer as a gift for my husband to be, with the same makeup artist and exact same makeup done and those pictures are night and day compared to my wedding photos. I thought I might be reacting a little sensitive so I showed the picture to my mother and my bridesmaids (who are the most supportive and my mom happens to think I always look great in every photo) they completely agreed, my bridesmaids did not even like the way they looked in the photos (especially since there were so many pictures of some with their eyes closed, making faces, or just not being at all ready for a photo). Even our videographer told us that it was difficult to work with her, and in our wedding video there are several parts that she is right in front of the camera and blocking the view. All in all, I haven't been able to use or post a single photo given to me by Lisa Stone. I would have been better off throwing thousands of dollars straight into a garbage can. I now have to spend even more money to hire a photographer (not to mention have my dressed cleaned again, have hair and makeup done) to take pictures of my husband and I, just so I can have some photos of me in my dress. Lisa photographed our wedding. She was recommended by a friend who does wedding photography but was unavailable on the date of our wedding. She was prompt, friendly, well-organized, and a pleasure to work with. Lisa met with us at the venues beforehand, gently explaining why some of our ideas wouldn't work and at the same time identifying locations that turned out to be great. A couple other photographers we'd talked to dismissed the idea of scouting the venues as an insult to their skills and a waste of time, but we believe it allowed us to get the most out of our limited time between the ceremony and the reception. Lisa was very responsive to what we wanted, including some family portraits with family members who hadn't been together in decades. She was also agreeable to leaving out stock wedding shots we had no interest in such as the wedding dress hanging in a window and pile of wedding rings. We are extremely pleased with the resulting photos. The posed bride-and-groom photos, in particular, greatly surpassed our expectations. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lisa or work with her again. read more
