Wow. This is how it's done…read more I called looking for a very specific and very nice bottle of 18 year old whiskey to be delivered locally today, as a gift. Not only was Pete, the owner, knowledgeable, friendly and quick, but it was also the lowest priced of other (non-local) vendors I had tried. It was ordered, wrapped and delivered in less than an hour and I got a confirmation of delivery and a copy of the receipt. She said with a sassy tone "right here " then said I need to see both your IDs my mom then kindly replies "why do you need mine when he's the one paying " My mom proceeded to show her ID and the lady's attitude continued to grow as I was taking my wallet out to show my ID she pointed at me saying "NO I NEED TO SEEE YOURR ID" because of that my mother said we didn't want anything . As we where walking towards the door her smart mouth continued . She was judging us because we are Hispanic and young ! This was an experience I'd never thought I'd come across . I've been friends with him ever since. Marvin has spent his life collecting special wines, beers and spirits. If you are talking with him and he rubs his hands together and says, "Hold on a minute.", then he heads down into the cellar, you will be offered something so very special. I've been in CA for 35 years now and I did see him a couple times along the way. He is in my thoughts and memories and, if I'm in CT, it's always worth a visit to see my good friend, Marvin!
