Short version: Aaron Bernard (of liquid light images) is the best photographer I have ever seen or even heard of. He single-handedly saved my wedding day not once, not twice, but three times! He's professional and extremely talented. My wedding pictures are better than any other pictures I have ever seen! I love him, I love his work, and I have nothing but amazing things to say about him!
The (very) long version: my husband and I live in Canada and decided to get married in Hawaii. We found Aaron (Liquid Light Images) oniline, and we really liked his work, and we just lucked out and picked him. I communicated with Aaron over email about a billion times before we finally flew to Hawaii. He answered every email promptly, and he was always accommodating. I must have rescheduled my engagement photo shoot 3 or 4 times, and Aaron was always cool about it.
We finally met Aaron on the engagement photo shoot day. He's funny and casual and calm and easy to talk to - everything a photographer should be. His wonderful assistant (his wife, Charmaine) is every bit as amazing!! Before he even started taking pictures, Aaron and Charmaine talked with us - what kind of mood are we looking for, what's important to us with our pictures. My husband and I aren't 'romantic' types. We prefer fun and casual and un-posed. I was so relieved that Aaron understood what we were looking for and was totally cool with it. (There's a seriously embarrassing story about how I flashed them while jumping off of a rock, but they were SO forgiving and really cool!) The engagement pictures are 'us'! We are so unbelievably happy with how they turned out! Aaron and Charmaine are funny and sweet, and they both work their butts off to make sure that the pictures are perfect. We got exactly what we were looking for, memorialized in breathtaking photos!
On to how Aaron and Charmaine saved my wedding day 3 times! In all of the stress and excitement of the big day, I forgot to bring my husband's ring to the church! I felt sick to my stomach! Wedding saver #1: Charmaine drove my brother back to our hotel to pick up the ring, and all the way back to the church. Anyone who's driven in Honolulu traffic knows what a big deal this is. The wedding started 45 minutes late, but without Charmaine, it wouldn't have happened.
Because the ceremony got started so late, we just didn't have time to go where we had originally planned to do our pictures (we seriously underestimated Honolulu traffic when planning!) Wedding saver #2: Aaron explained to us that we were going to have to change the location because we wouldn't be able to do it and get our reception on time. My husband was so upset, but Aaron was 100% right; we never would have made it! I am so grateful that Aaron was honest and upfront with us, even though he knew how much we wouldn't like to hear it! Then Aaron had to scramble and think of another place for us to take our pictures. It was the best thing that could have happened!!! The place that Aaron suggested was way better than where we were planning! Looking back, I can't even imagine what our pics would have looked like if we had followed the original plan, because what we got was a million times better.
On our way to Aaron's picture location we stopped for coffee! When we arrived a rain shower moved in, so we agreed to wait in the cars until it passed. Of course, we were driving a rental convertible! While my husband was trying to put up the roof he spilled coffee everywhere!!! While we were scrambling out of the car Aaron came running over to see what the heck we were doing. Wedding saver #3: when he saw the mess we'd made of ourselves and of the car, Aaron totally saved the day!!! He told us to go wait in his car, out of the rain, while he cleaned up the mess. Of course we had no towels or anything so Aaron and Charmaine used what they had available, but it wasn't enough. Aaron took his shirt off and used it to clean the mess! He literally gave us the shirt off his back! Meanwhile Charmaine was busy getting coffee out of white linen and satin! They totally patched us up, and cleaned the car, and pictures went on like nothing had happened!
Throughout all of the potential disasters and near-misses, Aaron and Charmaine never lost their cool, or their sense of humor. They bent over backwards to make our day perfect, and the pictures!!! OMG! The pictures are so far beyond anything I could have hoped for! If nothing went wrong I would still say that Aaron and Charmaine were worth double what we paid for their services, but with everything they did for us, they were invaluable!
The wedding pictures that I have are a testament to how amazing Aaron and Charmaine are! Our wedding was fun and happy, and a total success thanks to Aaron and Charmaine. read more
