The name is cool and the sign boasting tropical wines lured us in. I specifically wanted to see if I could find an extraordinary wine that I found last year, somewhere in Mississippi. It was very inexpensive and I recall being intrigued by it at a roadside shop but can't remember where exactly. It was a coconut wine, I know it sounded weird to me too, however it was a delightful light & sweet wine that was super tasty and I want to find it. Sure enough this fun shop has lots of tropical wines, pineapple, mango, orange, apple, peach, pina colada, kiwi and even grapefruit but alas there was no coconut. The gentleman came over and offered to give us some help with his explaination of some of the various vineyards and specifics. Indeed Joe was our tour guide and provided some excellent choices of wine and had quite a few for tasting. While we were browsing we saw a big selection of Purple Toas wines which is a very nice Winery in Paducah, KY that's near our our old sailing home where we raced out sailboats. We did tastings there and really enjoy several of their wines, my favorite is the Black and Bruised and yes Joe's got some and we got some of that to bring home. I also spotted a nice selection of Biltmore wines from another one if my fave wineries in Asheville, NC.i asked for their riesling and yes they have it, so some of that to go. Next it was time to try something new so Joe asked of I like peach, to which I replied "does a bear ...." well I do live me some peach. He faces me a taste of an ice cold peach wine that knocked my socks off, so yes that was out next selection. We tried a couple others before Joe recommended an apple wine that is fermented in old bourbon casks. It was very poignant and reminded me of my sweetheart's favorite single malt scotches soooooo I had to get some of that for her. It's like a fine sipping wine for her, like a nice winter wine is for me :-) They have some other cool stuff in the store like frozen pina coladas made with wine a d sime fun gifts items as well. We racked up some nice selections of favorites and several new ones and now our wine fridge is all filled up. Bottom line: Joe is a very friendly, knowledgeable and fun guy to help you find just the right fun wine for you. I haven't seen this particular variety of fruity wines anywhere else in the area and recommend checking this place out. They do have traditional whites, reds, blancs and blends but the stars are the fruits.

They will bake up sugar-free items or other requests every day if you just call them in the early morning, that's a service not available at most grocers. But, I'm writing the review to talk about their custom sandwiches that we really love. First off, they use Boars Head meats, which are great, but there's a store brand option. Boars Head has long been my choice for grocery and gourmet deli meat because their a 5th generation US company that makes good tasting stuff with lots of options. (review for this company is in my drafts :-) Secondly the Finally the outstanding app that lets you custom half or full sub on white, whole grain or on flat bread either cold, pressed or toasted with a choice of 7 cheeses, 20 toppings or extras and 9 sauces. You can also make it a combo with a big selection of chips and drinks and here's a cool convenient feature, build it, pay for it, choose the time (usually with 30-45 minutes), then just walk over to the deli, pick it up and you're in and out on your way. You can choose to pay for it at the store but then you have to fac lines and time, whatever works. Of course you can also have them make one or more of these sandwich treats while you're in the store. (I have done that before and they made my sandwich while I showed, cool!) My favorite is "The Ultimate" and my sweetheart's is the low sodium "Turkey". Bottom line: If you have doubts go to one of their south Florida during lunchtime and you will find locals dutifully waiting in line for one of their freshly made Boars Head subs. Publix is a joke and they have lost my pharmacy business and groceries. You got to be saying why,…read more I have used the Foley, AL Publix to get my prescriptions filled I would order my prescription testosterone, they would fill the order but didn't have the needles or syringes. They would tell me to go to the other publix in gulf shores if i needed the needles and syringes. Tonight I go to Gulf Shores Publix a 10 mile round trip and they don't have the needles or syringes. What do I do drink the medicine? They Publix is after the god almighty dollar they shouldnt ever sell the product without communicating. Poor customer service. They have lost a customer for life. But, you'd still have to walk through the stuff to get inside the restaurant and then back to your car. Maybe take a wet towel to wipe everybody's shoes? I don't know. But, the place is really good. We'll probably drive by every few months to see if maybe it was just some temporary issue that they are addressing. Until then, I recommend this restaurant, if you're staying at a condo within walking distance and your condo has one of those "rinse off" stations. Get the Margherita flatbread. You'll be impressed. If this place wasn't as outstanding as it was - this parking lot mess would have cost a lot more than the one star I subtracted.
