I was instantly at ease in her presence, and it felt totally safe to open up to her. Alison is a great listener and also leads the session along in a way that feels really helpful and supportive because of the great questions she asks and the perspective she provides. She really seems to be on top of what's going on for me. She remembers things I've told in the past and makes connections for me, and lately I really appreciate that she remembers to ask me specific things about my visits to the doctor. I particularly appreciate that Alison has quite a few clients dealing with infertility, and so because I was feeling so isolated, it helped to learn that much of what I was feeling was totally normal. She could speak to what she had seen and heard from working with her other clients, and I found great comfort in that. Also, as my husband and I have made the choice to pursue Assisted Reproductive Technology (A.R.T.), she already knew so much about it, so I didn't feel I had to spend any time educating or explaining things to her. Through working with Alison, I feel she's now on my team of supporters as I move through the A.R.T. journey. She's someone I look forward to talking to because I know each time that I leave her office I will have gotten what feels like just the right support for what's going on at that particular time. I love that she's been so supportive and knowledgeable about the fertility stuff, but I also love that the sessions allow us to cover more than "just" my fertility concerns, in unexpected but really good ways. So, yes, Alison's been a HUGE help in that I feel so much more empowered and happier regarding where I am with my fertility...and my life. I've been thinking a lot about this situation with my prescriber, and I keep going back and forth…read moreon what I could have done differently versus what they could have done better. On one hand, I can see that technically I could have communicated more clearly about the issues I was having with the medication. I could've saved the number that called me when I had contact that one time. Looking back, some of it seems like it could have been simple, like just saying more directly what I was experiencing. I can kind of imagine someone else maybe would've handled it differently. But at the same time, I'm realizing that I wasn't really given clear instructions on what exactly to track or how to measure symptoms. She told me a few things to watch out for, but emotions and side effects can look different for everybody--and that was never really acknowledged or broken down. There wasn't much guidance on what counted as "serious" or what to do if I wasn't sure. It felt like I was expected to just know how to handle all of it, and I didn't. Part of me feels kind of stupid because now that I'm on the other side of it, I can see some things I maybe could've done. But my logical side knows that this was all new to me, and I did the best I could with the support I had--which honestly wasn't a lot. I wasn't given tools, I wasn't offered follow-up until I pushed for it, and when I did try to express myself, I felt like I was being brushed off or talked down to. At one point she even made a mocking face when I asked a genuine question. That really made me feel small. I don't want to just sit in blame, either way. I want to understand what healthy accountability looks like for both me and a provider in a situation like this--because I do want to be someone who communicates clearly and takes care of my health. But I also want to feel safe and respected when I do. Right now, I just feel confused, a little embarrassed, and frustrated. Though I do have to say, Senami still has experience with medication, and gives basic starter medications, so it's not like she's going hay wire, this was just my experience because of my reactions to the medications.

She completely dismissed my needs and retraumatized me. Millie, the owner, did not provide any explanation for why I was mistreated, apart from blaming me for miscommunicating my goals for the session. I got a refund for the session but no closure for why a therapist would treat me so insensitively at intake. Sage Therapy will waste your time and money and dismiss your needs without explaining why. Avoid.

She claims she has no clue about the area.....what kind of person that claims to be a professional leaves a person in the lurch without any idea of a referral. Professionals that do not have a referral list clearly are more in it for the money than helping the person. Unprofessional, client beware!
