Yes, it has trails, but they are chopping, and boring and not very long. This is a small park and a great place to go if you are looking to say, have a picnic, read a book, or just lounge around....that's what it is. It's a neighborhood park. Go here to play frisbee, not to take in a nice long run. They have two pavilions you can rent, which is nice for family picnics and get togethers. All in all, nothing special, just a park. It's well maintained and there's a ton of grass, which is great for nice days and laying around. Otherwise, parks like this are a dime a dozen. Not that we should get rid of them. Keep the parks, make more of them in fact. If every neighborhood had little parks like this, the world would be a much nicer place.

Remembering there was a park close by, we decided to hang out and play. Enter McEntee Memorial Park. McEntee Memorial Park is located at the intersections of Clay and Madison just west of the Kirkwood Police Department. This half-acre park honors the memory of Police Sergeant Bill McEntee, who lost his life in the line of duty. The park has a playground that includes swings, slides, and a merry-go-round and is popular among children. Did you know that instead of rocks or wood chips, the playground uses foam like substance? (sorry, don't know the correct terminology). In addition to the playground, there is a picnic area, Optimist Club gazebo, and benches offer a place for adults to relax or to watch the trains that go by on the Union Pacific tracks. The train tracks are north of the park. This is such a great park and within easy walking distance to downtown Kirkwood.
