Hello! Welcome to Crisfield, the crab capitol of the world! We live here, and crabbing is one of our summer pastimes. This morning we went ot in the boat & caught a couple dozen, but we werelooking to "glow" our catch up by buying a half dozen or a dozen really big nice crabs. We have had a bad experience at Lintons several years ago, (shrimp & crab legs with strong ammonia smell), but said, letks give them another chance. Now that we live here, we are pretty regular customers at our local businesses, so... I went in the door at Lintons and was greeted by a friendly lady. Told he what I was looking for, she said they had jumbo crabs and I could get a half dozen or a dozen. ($115.00 a dozen) but when I said I wanted Live crabs she looked at me like I had grown two heads! "You want them LIVE??.?" I said yes, we steam our own seafood. She then proceeded to tell me they steam ALL the crabs assoon as they come in! Pay attention here. That means if you are going to eat at Lintons, you will get REHEATED CRABS. Yes, as another reviewer said, the food comes quickly. Like yesterdays LEFTOVERS. In case you didn"t know, reheated crabs are GROSS. In any event, she said that the daily crab catch had not come in yet, it would be after one o'clock. I saidI lived nearby and would return, and thanked he after asking her to save some live out for me. 1:30 was the time we discussed. Went back at 1:40. The lady saw me and checked with someone in the backthat the live crabs had,indeed, come in. Waited, and waited, while she finished with a customer, then she asked the help in theback to bringup my crabs. Someone the back called herand she went back, and she came out laughing and said, "OH, he just put all the crabs inthe STEAMER". Yeah. Yuck, yuck.....hilarious. What great customer service. My next door neighbor, Joe, is from Maryland and Linton's is his Go-To place for crab. Every year, Joe orders a bushel to be shipped to California to share with family and friends. The quantity keeps growing and, this year, the order was for 2.5 bushels. Precooked, medium size, in their traditional Old Bay seasoning. They are perfectly packaged with dry ice and shipped FedEx. Spectacular quality and flavor. We sit in his backyard drinking beers and cracking the reheated crab. Love coming here to pick up food while in the area. Try to come at least once a summer while in Crisfield. They always package the food in frozen containers so that I can safely get the food home without the food spoiling. I love getting the crab cakes and crabs. They are always fresh and well prepared. In this trip I also brought jumbo shrimp and scallops for the holiday weekend. Again, the food is always well packaged and put on ice so that I can transport the food home. You can have the food cook and eat at the restaurant, however we do not eat there as we are generally leaving Smith Island or Tangier Island and we are already full. Hello Linton's Team, I cannot thank you enough for the recent order of Jumbo Blue Crabs (steamed with medium spice). The experience was top notch from the order over the phone to the delivery the next morning. When I opened the package I found beautiful large crabs intact and the smell took me back to a child in Owings Mills! Although they are for tomorrow's big Thanksgiving day feast, I had to sample a claw. It was fantastic and so meaty. I admit to being a nervous first time customer. But now a loyal fan! I was nervous because the Google results for "Steamed Maryland Crabs Shipped" (the paid ads that rise to the top of the search) had great websites at great prices...but in researching their reviews on Yelp and Google there were far too many negative comments for spoiled shipments and rude service. I ordered a dozen soft shell crab "whale" via mail. I chose the 2nd day option and I when I opened the box the dry ice was still there and the crabs were still frozen. These crab were big. Any larger the shell would be chewy. Because of their size the shells are a bit thicker than the "hotel" size but amazing texture nonetheless. And noticeably bigger than the jumbo size which I've had in the past. They may be pricey when you include shipping but definitely worth it for the occasional gourmet splurge. Tasted great! read more

I placed an order on 2 December for delivery on 20 December that included soft shell crabs, sea scallops, and live clams. Unfortunately, UPS messed up the delivery and anticipated delivering the order on 23 December. I've called, emailed, and IMed Linton's and got absolutely zero help. I spoke with a man on the 18th who said he'd find out what was happening and call me back in fifteen minutes. I have yet to hear back from anyone. Fortunately, UPS saved the day and delivered my order on 21 December 2019. However, the scallops were partially thawed and seven of the twelve clams were dead. The softies were still mostly frozen, but were not the size I ordered. As you can see from the pics, the scallops were mostly torn pieces and didn't weigh a pound as advertised. Considering the expense of the seafood and the shipping, compared to the quality of what was received, I'd think that the company should at the VERY least, offer me an apology. I'm never ordering from this company again and highly recommend that you don't either! read more

We came from NC to cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel and to eat seafood in Crisfield MD. A trip for my dad, he loves fried oysters. We came across Linton's and stopped in....what a wonderful find. We ordered up some fried oysters, oysters on the half shell, steamed shrimp, crabcakes and fried flounder. Everything was cooked perfectly. So fresh, like it came right out of the bay and jumped on our plates. Really great people, so if you find yourself anywhere near Crisfield do yourself a favor and stop. Excellent seafood and wonderful company. If I had completed this review the first day after the first annual crab fest at my house, it would been a wonderful review. Luckily, I got distracted. I had read some of the other reviews talking about bad shipping and worse packaging, that's not what I encountered. The shipping company called before the delivery and the package itself was a thing of beauty. Tightly wrapped and cold with the crabs neatly stacked in perfect order. While I really don't believe that these crabs were colossal heavy weights like I ordered and paid for, we all had a great time and the crabs were wonderful. That is, until the following day. So, with the styrofoam cooler packed with ice, we decided to pick the remaning crabs for crab cakes the next day. Thats when there was trouble. Turns out, only the top 2 or 3 dozen were beautiful and perfect. As we chipped away at the remaining 2 dozen and a half or so, it was clear that many of these crabs were cooked after they were dead. You can always tell as soon as you open the crab and it's gray and mushy. In addition, there were so, so many with crushed in shells. And trust me, these crabs weren't heavy enough to have been crushed by the weight of the crabs on top. Nope, these guys were deliberetly hidden at the bottom. Smooth move Lintons! Sell jumbo crabs as colossal heavy weights and then hide the dead crushed ones at the bottom! You may have gotten a great sale out of me ($500.00 or $600.00!) but you've lost me as a customer. It's back to that other crab place! read more

First off, I just want to mention that I was in Maryland last week and had a great experience with fresh crab and knew what to expect. So I wanted to bring this experience home and I ordered a dozen for my sister as a gift for her birthday. They arrived right on time and were packaged appropriately, but no amount of good packaging and timeliness can justify the disgusting mess that we received. I ordered 1 dozen medium (5-5.5 inch) jimmies, with light seasoning. The crabs we received all barely met the minimum, with not a single one over 5 inches and were heavily seasoned. Several had already cracked shells. The insides of the body were gray and somewhat mushy. Although they all met the size requirement, they were all lightweights and barely contained any meat. Even the large claws had very little meat, and very troubling, the meat in the claws had a dark, almost black tint to it. We were hesitant to eat it at all because of that, but they didn't smell bad, so we did taste them. The meat in the claws, what little there was, was not tender and tasted overcooked. I do not recommend ordering Linton Seafood for a cross-country delivery. It's a big waste of money! Edit to add: I have contacted Linton's to see about getting a refund. The guy in the warehouse (Harvey) was authorized to refund half the price, but I'm waiting to see if the main office will call me back. I would like a full refund since this was not good meat. So far, they are hesitant to do so since we threw the order out. Apparently, if there is a problem with the order, you are supposed to keep the mess and they send FedEx back for it. Wouldn't it be great if they put something in the order telling you that???? My guess is that this is how they get out of issuing refunds. read more

I'm originally from the east coast and it's tough living in Texas missing out on crab feasts in the summertime. I've ordered 1 dozen large crabs from Linton Seafood twice now and both times the crabs have been great. The first order was in April and the second was in early August. Both times the crabs were cooked very well, and very meaty. Also worth noting I didn't get any bad tasting/spoiled crabs in either lot. Later this month I'm getting a bushel for a crab feast with friends, it will be interesting to see how that many crabs fare the journey here, but based on my past experiences I think it will be great! They definitely have a customer for life. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that wants to get their crab fix from far away. read more

Also...there are tons of places to order seafood - I would worry about having my "call answered in the order in which it was received". Not so with Linton's.
