I'm one of those people that move house quite a fair bit. I think the number of houses I've lived in has been around seven to date. I haven't lived in my current neighbourhood for all that long, but from changing suburbs so much, I like to think I've picked up a few things. Making nice with the neighbours is one, and so is checking out the locale - especially when it comes to restaurants.
Lin's Garden Chinese Restaurant was a gold mine for our little exploring family. I have to say my first experience there was a particularly good one. The service was polite and fast, the food was wolfed down (a clear indication of the food quality), and although we didn't particularly want to sit nearest the kitchens, the place was pleasant to eat in.
Although staple Chinese restaurant food is fairly predictable, the crispy skin chicken was delicious and I absolutely cannot do without the dry-roasted Szechuan salt/pepper combo that they bring on the side. For me, it's the little touches like that that distinguish Chinese restaurants from the better Chinese restaurants. For something a little less predictable, I'd really recommend the pork 'Bomb Alaska' dish. It's similar to sweet and sour pork without that sickly sweetness, and rates well on the entertainment factor - just watch your fingers for those flames! read more
