Popular with locals and tourists, mainly due to the friendly atmostphere which welcomes you on every visit. The food itself is great, the fish is almost always cooked to order so you need to allow 10mins or so for your order! I particularly enjoy the pea fritters, which i would say are the best available on the south coast! The portions are generous and good value for money, the only pricey thing are drinks which you'd be better off buying from the nearby co-op.

You order the food at the counter after you walk in and then they bring it to your table when it is ready. So, service was immediate at the counter, and then the food came out about 10-12 min later. The atmosphere is very casual, no neckties and jackets required here. I found this place online and my husband was not disappointed. However the best option is take away fish and chips and take the short walk down to the quay were there is a selection of benches. The chip shop also does daily specials for oap's.
