Location: On the West Island, off the 40. I think the best way to access the place is to get off at Sources and stay on the service road - I'm not sure if there's an entrance from there, but considering how stupidly complicated it is to access it from Sources, I should think there is. If, however, you exit at Sources - you can't turn left on Brunswick (naturally). You'll have to take a right at the first light, make a U-turn, then head up toward the shop. Oh and guess what? You can't turn left to access the shop either - so you'll have to drive past it and, you guessed it - make another U-turn. Love the West Island and it's lack of left turns.
The place: They've got a wide assortment of Lindt chocolate truffles, as well as limited edition stuff (i.e. Easter chocolate if Easter is coming up, and so on). You can purchase standard sized bags of truffles (150g) or select your own. In the last case, you will be charged based on the weight of your bag. They've got two different 'bin' sections, but for some reason, you can't combine products from the two bins - the prices are different. Personally, I think this is silly since it's all chocolate. They've also got bars, and a few different boxed selections of chocolate as well. I'd say there is something for everyone.
Service: OK. I was greeted and given a truffle when I walked in. At one point, a clerk came up to me and told me (after I'd already filled up my bags), that you couldn't combine items from the aforementioned (two) bins. Would have been nice to know that when I asked how things worked but what can you do.
Price point: OK - I rarely buy Lindt in the 'regular' stores, so I'm not 100% positive, but I'm almost positive that the bags (150g) are about the same price, give or take $1. If you're buying by weight, it's $5.99 for 100g (about 8 chocolates). I think you can get a 150g for that price, or less, in the shop. read more
