Linda is amazing! Her yarn is amazing! Her dog is amazing! Her homemade pickles are amazing! I first met Linda at her yarn store in Port Credit, Mississauga. I considered it a treat going there. Linda is not only amazingly talented she is incredibly helpful. I tell her what I want and she puts the package together without me even having to think. lol. At first I was heartbroken when I learnt she was moving her store to Orangeville but now it is even a bigger treat to go to see her at her store. I am so happy for Linda and her new digs. She still puts everything together for me,knows my taste and lets me know when a yarn she knows I will love comes in. Now my biggest fear is if she ever retires. I was the worst customer ever... I walked in 5 minutes to closing time but Linda was so sweet and patient with me. She took the time to explain the feature and benefits about the products I inquired about and as a newbie to knitting (just over a month) made it so easy for me to purchase some goodies for my stash. A not very big yarn store with space for knitters to sit down and knit. I love this store because it has a great collection of Fleece Artist (really a lot! ) and Handmaiden yarn. I love this brand so much that I don't mind to drive from Markham to this store (almost took me 45 minutes to get there!) to buy them. The great part is: they have lots of discount yarn in the basement, I checked them out and they even have handmaiden yarn on sale. I bought quite a few of Silky yarn which is incredibly soft! Parking is not a very big issue, although you need to find a spot on the street. The traffic is not very busy on that street, so, it should be fine. For the opening hours, they are closed on Sun and Monday. It worths to go if you love Fleece Artist and Handmaiden! (The price is very reasonable too!) read more

Walked in looking for some yarn to fix my toque that had been torn up by my friend's dog. The selection they had seemed too thick than what I needed. I was led to the 'bargain basement' and we looked for something suitable so that I didn't have to buy a whole roll of yarn for my requirements. When they didn't have what I needed, they offered a suggestion of another store down the block (that did happen to have what I needed). Anyway, very friendly people in here sitting around knitting and I did see a sign on the door for knitting lessons so that's another offering they have. If I ever decide to take up knitting this will be where I go for further advice. read more

I am giving 5 stars for the outstanding selection and for Linda, who knows everything when it comes to knitting and who is the fastest knitter in North America. Yes, there are treasures to be found in that basement so look well. Great yarn shop. It has everything you need at pretty good prices. A really great selection of sock yarns too. A bargain basement with good bargains. Nice staff. When I need sock yarn (nice sock yarn), I drive from Hamilton to this shop to get what I need. I hope it stays open forever. read more

Came to Linda's for the first time last week and had a great experience! The guy working at the time was very very helpful with every aspect of my shopping - he even gave me a short-n-sweet lesson on working with a hank, and spun my first ball for me :) The selection is beautiful and very well-priced, and all of the sample pieces displayed near the front are very inspiring and make you want to knit all day long! read more

This is the best (in fact only) yarn store and knitting hangout in the area. I have taken lessons from Linda privately and taken group classes here as well as buying yarn and knitting accessories.
