My expectations for the buffet breakfast at this airport hotel were beyond zero, but honestly, I was so surprised. I was so content with this breakfast. Breakfast potatoes were pretty decent too... There are few substitutes in life for when your expectations get blown out of the water. My rating is 3.5 stars. I will round up…read more I have stayed at this Residence Inn in the past. I never got to review it until now. This hotel shares the same parking lot as the Courtyard. Both hotels are about a five-minute drive from my workplace. I recently did a staycation in Mississauga. My boyfriend flew in from a business trip early on Saturday, so we managed to take it easy and spend some time in the city, staying at this hotel. I checked in on Good Friday. I was promptly greeted by the woman at the front desk. She was polite and is so comfortable with her position that welcoming me as a gold elite member seemed almost scripted. The problem that I had right off the bat was that my credit card on file that I used to book this hotel had recently been compromised. I wanted to convey that information when she asked me for my ID and credit card on file. I tried speaking, but she wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise. She then proceeded to ask for the last four digits of my credit card on file. I actually had to interject by saying, "Can you please let me talk?" I then explained that I needed to give her a different credit card than the one on file. I finally broke her from her script. She swiped my card, got me my room keys, and directed me to where the elevators were. My room was on the fourth floor. I ended up getting a studio suite. It was nice. I like staying at Residence Inn because I get a kitchenette. I like fixing myself something to eat when I get hungry. I tend to bring my own bottled water and food. If you drink one of the 500 mL bottles of water in the room, it costs you $2.50. I had fixed myself dinner my first night there. I looked for liquid dish soap and there wasn't any. Normally, it's either by the sink or under it. Only the garbage bin was under the sink. I didn't see any dishwasher tablets around, either. I called the front desk to ask about liquid dish soap and dishwasher tablets. The first question I got was, "Did you check under the sink?" It sounded a bit condescending. I said yes. She advised that you actually have to ask for liquid dish soap. The hotel doesn't provide it automatically in the kitchenette, which I found odd. As for the dishwasher tablet, it was missed. She advised that she would send someone. Sure enough, about twenty minutes later, a got a knock at my door. I got liquid dish soap and a sponge with a scouring side. Nice! I was happy. I slept well during my stay. The area is fairly quiet, except for garbage collection that oddly happened early on Saturday morning. That was okay, for my boyfriend had arrived at the airport just after 08:00. It felt like home here. I was happy watching TV in the living room on the comfy couch. The shower was perfect. It had two shelves for me to put my shower and shampoo. The water pressure was decent. The sink area is away from the shower area. There was plenty of space to put my toiletries and plug in my electric toothbrush. The bed was queen-sized. It fit both of us comfortably (I'm two inches shy of being six feet and he is six feet). The bed's firmness was perfect. There was a TV in the bedroom and one in the living room. Both worked just fine. I didn't use the little dining room table to sit down and eat. Instead, I placed my non-perishables on the table. I was thrilled that housekeeping did a terrific job at making my room during my entire stay. I cringe when I am at other hotels these days, as my room often gets missed for some reason. Even on Easter, my room was promptly made at this hotel, which I appreciated. I would come back and stay here. (152)

Driver arrived to pick me up from terminal 3 to Georgetown Sunday August 12, 2018, two weeks after I used the same service at a set price. When the driver dropped me at home, he told me the price would be 90$, which was 18$ more than I originally paid for the same ride 2 weeks prior. When I questioned the price he told me it was an 'airport fee' and he only charged it when you come home! Said it wasn't his fee, and that it was a dispatch request. Ridiculous! Who does he think he is! He was trying to rip me off because I'm a single female travelling alone! Immediately called my husband Peter Phillips who was the one who pre-arranged the pickup with the company to verify the price he had been given, as I had never paid that much to or from the airport before. My husband said no, that was not the agreed upon rate. Driver argued and argued and spouted one ridiculous word after another!! I'm going to report this as well to the GTAA as this service is supposed to be an 'approved' airport service! Harassement at its finest! They 'apologized for the inconvenience' of my car being stolen, and then basically washed their hands of the situation. While I understand that vehicle theft can happen anywhere, their response to this situation was absolutely not reflective of the hospitality that I would expect from the Marriott family of hotels.
