I enjoy this Thai restaurant. It has a great Thai look and feel. It's a little dark and cozy. The food can sometimes lack salt but that's preference. My only concern about this place is the service time. The single waitress was super sweet and kind but she handled all of the tables. It's downtown so people are looking to get in and out in less than 1 hour. It seldom happens to be done in that time frame. Service is the best. Friendly and remembers repeat customers. The ambiance is quiet and clean. They have a small bar area. The menu is large and they will "custom" most things listed especially with regard to "heat". I love their pineapple rice served in 1/2 pineapple. The rice has pineapple, raisins and cashews in it. You can add seafood, chicken, pork or steak. Prices are very affordable and the quantity is huge. I always get 2 or 3 meals from my order. It is just as good reheated the next day! Server brought over a complimentary spring roll and chicken broth soup. That was a nice touch as it was kind of a chilly day. The food came pretty quickly and both were tasty. Portions were just right for lunch. Our server was by himself and was getting busier but he didn't skip a beat. He checked back to make sure our food was good. He was pleasant and efficient. Let's start with the food... delicious! I had the Yellow Curry Chicken and it was very good. It's bland looking (hello yellow!) but so flavorful. Spice ratings are accurate so don't be a hero! This is not very spicy though, just enough. I also enjoyed the soup and spring roll (more please!). We had to wait for someone to acknowledge us at the front, but once we sat food was out quickly. Our waiter was great too. He even reminded us that gratuity was automatically added due to us being a party of six - which many do not disclose upfront. The ambiance was nice. Regularly get lunch specials which are good. Went to dinner on April 7, got 2 Pad Thai chicken , Pad Sea-Ew chicken, Lo-Mein beef, Lo Mein chicken, and 3 children's dinners. ALL DINNERS were tasteless, didn't appear to be cooked right. Very disappointed for the amount of money we spent. Do not recommend this place and won't be going there again. Very disappointing. Soooooo good!!! My coworker and I went here for lunch and we will be returning! It is in such a good spot downtown and the price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get. I got the spicy stir fry (photo below!) and it came with the lunch special egg roll and soup. I will probably be trying something different when I do return! Service was quick and so friendly! Very good Thai food with five-plus star service. I was in the area on business and followed the Yelp reviews. There were two in my party with us getting pad see ew and pad Thai. Dinner on a Saturday night and there was no wait... the restaurant was fairly busy though. It's a long narrow space with a bar toward the back. Lots of Thai decorations and red walls making the ambiance quite nice. We started with the Papaya salad app. The portion was a little small, but the taste was excellent! It wasn't spicy at all and we were not asked if we wanted it spicy when we ordered it. For my main course I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. I chose a 4 on their 1-4 spicy scale. The spice level was not super spicy but it was adequate. The flavor was good but I would say this version of Pad Thai was sweeter than most others I have had. The portion size was good. Our service was pretty good. Our server was busy and her tables were spread out all over the restaurant so there were some longer gaps between visits to check on us. This was my first visit, and I ordered pad Thai with tofu. I came to pick it up and it was hot and ready, and the server that rang me up was very friendly! I got home to eat it, and the pad Thai was very over-cooked and soft. The flavor was almost there but it was a mushy Playdoh-like texture. The location is great, but the restaurant is dated and not the cleanest. The bathrooms need an overhaul. The appetizer was great (Tofu Tod) but the dinners were underwhelming and seemed to be full of butter which is quite different than I am used to for Thai food. Worst Thai food ever. The ambiance was unusual and the place smelled and looked like an old, dusty, dingy cigar bar. We ordered dumplings which took an extremely long time to come out and we had to ask for plates and sauce. For our main, we asked for chicken fried rice (mild) and it was definitely on the hot end of the flavor spectrum and the meat had an unusual texture so I can't confirm that it was chicken. Employee with the blonde hair was very unprofessional. He followed us out the door and told us we didn't pay him enough for a tip. He said he can't pay his rent for what we left. We went back in to speak with a manager and tell him what the employee said to us. The employee processed to speak over us and starts cussing and telling us to never come back. It was literally a half inch chicken breast battered and fried with a scoop of white rice, 4 pieces of steamed broccoli and a tiny cup of curry. This saddens me because Thai curry is usually one of my favorite dishes mmm looking at you Khao Soi. I would have given them NO stars but this app wouldn't let me. I ordered a grilled chicken salad that is $8.95. What I got was a very thin almost freezed dried piece of chicken about the size 3 fingers wide on about 5 pieces of lettuce with 3 pieces of tomatoes, 3 tiny pieces of the heart of a pineapple, with 3 cashews, and no dressing or cucumbers. When I called to complain about this so called salad. The guy answering the phone didn't want to hear it because he gave HUB City salad dressing to send to me. I got more salad dressing than I got salad. When I was complaining to the guy about this so called salad his comment to me was "Oh well, mam I don't know what to tell you. This is how we have been making the salad for 14 years and you are the first to complain." He then hung up the phone on me. They are rude and they are thieves. They got my first and last bit of business!! Their food and service both suck!!!! Do NOT give them your business! There are far better places to eat in Spartanburg. read more

We visited on a Monday night and it wasn't very busy. That said it did take awhile for us to be seated, have our order taken, and get the check. We also didn't have anyone check on us until we were done eating. We had to stop another waiter in order for me to eat as I still didn't have any silverware. The food was good though. My order had two chili peppers next to it, so there should have been some spice to it, but there wasn't. Still it was pretty tasty. The few chicken pieces there were in my dish were too big to be eaten with only a fork or spoon, so cutting the pieces smaller in a bowl of soup was a challenge. Full disclosure: I didn't eat in the restaurant. I had Hub City deliver. I didn't want a full meal tonight. I wanted spring rolls and dumplings, so that's what I ordered (appetizer menu). I often like finger food for dinner, and I love Thai/Asian food. I'll go in order of consumption. First: The two-piece fresh rolls. They looked, and tasted very fresh. The carrots and the cucumber were great; the shrimp was cooked very well. I detected no seasoning in the rolls. One of my rolls wasn't assembled correctly; it was open, and difficult to eat. It wasn't possible to "re-stretch" the wrapper. So that was disappointing. More care, less haste. Make it, and send it, right, or don't bother. The plum sauce that went with them was delicious. That's where the seasoning was, and I'd eat that stuff again with pleasure. Second: The three crisp Thai spring rolls. They were still crispy, even after briefly traveling in a styrofoam container. Very tasty; I have no complaints about them at all. Then there was the sauce. The menu described it as "sweet orange sauce." It wasn't sweet. It tasted like vinegar with a hint of orange, and it was super runny (like water). Not a fan. I'd rather have had another helping of the plum sauce. Third: Several fried dumplings. Six? Maybe seven? So the menu described them as chicken and vegetables served with brown garlic lime sauce. The dumplings weren't crisp but, again, they had to travel. I think I'd have browned them a bit longer. The filling of the dumplings tasted like ground meat. If there were vegetables in there, I couldn't detect them. And at first bite, they seemed to be somewhat flavorless. But after chewing and swallowing, the seasonings were on the palate and back of the tongue. Subtle, and tasty. The brown garlic lime sauce tasted more to me like some kind of balsamic mixture. It was ... okay. I liked it more than the "sweet orange sauce," but I wouldn't rave about it or ask for seconds. The last two "sauces" were too liquidy. The first one was a perfect consistency. The second two, not so much. Would I order from Lime Leaf again? Yes. This order wasn't ideally constructed, but it was largely tasty and mostly met my expectations, so the restaurant deserves another try. read more

Ok. I hate giving it 3 stars because the service was great and it is in a really cool location. I think my biggest issue with this place was the flavors. The Tom Yum was missing that zing you get from the tree roots and that hot and sour flavor. The profile was just not there. It was hot but the flavor was not authentic. Same for my beef salad. It was hot, but it just did not have the authentic flavor I was looking for. I really wanted to love the place because it is such a cool place. However, Bangkok Thai beats this place hands down for authentic Thai flavors. It has that zing, that lemon, that ginger, that spice all worked together. First off I love the food here. Usually a great place. I came in tonight though and the waiter refused to seat me and my friend for service because it was "too late". We walked in the door at 8:40pm, the restaurant closes at 9:30, there were two tables occupied In the whole place. Not sure if the waiter just didn't feel like doing his job or if he was just plan lazy, pretty sad regardless for a place that is usually on point. My recommendation is for y'all to get someone who actually wants to work or change your posted hours from 9:30pm to 9pm because apparently your dining room closes at 8:40pm when this guy is on shift. read more
