Anyway, I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Ghandi 2 months out as that was their first available appointment. I arrived 15 mins before my scheduled consultation appointment time only to be greeted with, "yeah, we tried calling you last week but couldn't reach you because we had to reschedule your appointment" Hmm...didn't think to leave a message or try calling again the following week? Also I asked when they called but conveniently they have NO log as to when they called. Wow.... Terrible service: No "I'm sorry" and no "let me try to get you reappointed as quickly as possible". I believe this person's name is Gisel or Grisel or maybe even Visel Anyway, they clearly don't care about customer service and worse, clearly don't care about patients' well being as they seem like their accustomed to canceling long scheduled appointments. Another person answering the phone while I was there told a person over the phone, "we don't have another appointment available for you until September"! Wow...I'm speechless I asked for another appointment and stood there for over 7 mins in silence at the front desk like a dummy as Gisel slowly looked through her appt book...and still left without an appointment. In short, I won't be returning and won't be scheduling another consultation and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone else.

The wait is generally 15-20 minutes, even if you get there early. Great practice, I would highly recommend to anybody looking for a general practitioner.

I DID NOT authorize this amount, i was never aware that it would cost this much. When you call the billing department, you're told to set up a payment plan. I had been seen by a Dr. Peterson. I did everything the doctor told me to do, even the stuff that I knew didn't work in the spirit of co operation! Well, it was finally told to me that I needed a shot called Remicaid, a immune system suppressant. They told me I had to be healthy for this. I understood. I waited months, all the time the doctor telling me that they had heard nothing from my insurance, and that being the reason for the delay. I have since learned that Robin Hamilton had the paperwork all the time and has refused to forward it because "she could do that". Ok, lets get a time line going on all of this. After I located the authorization, an appoint ment was set for me to get an infusion of remicaid at their Smilo cancer center. I would say that was about the top of January. Problem, during this time, I ate a bad sandwich at Subway and didn't make it to the appointments. Dr. Peterson knew all about this. Yet failed to properly document this. It was during this time that I asked .

The surgeons, doctors, and most of the nurses were top-notch. Nurses Naomi in the CTICU and Dai and Karla on SP 5-3 deserve a special shout-out for professional, compassionate and competent care. The real problem with YNHH is that it's a 45-hours-per-week hospital. It's practically a nursing home, except Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. Even then, it can take forever for procedures to be scheduled and to take place. Many departments close up shop for the weekend, and the ONLY goal for the remaining staff seems to be handing everyone, still alive, back to the active practitioners on Monday morning. In preparation for a discharge on Friday morning, a bedside attempt was made to place a PICC-line. When that failed, placement in radiology was needed, but they were unable to schedule that until the following Tuesday. FOUR extra days in the hospital, because of the weekend, and because of not enough personnel/resources to get him into IR in a timely fashion. A frustrating, and expensive delay! Enduring 4 needless inpatient days, with the noise, discomfort, unappetizing/ cold food, and increased risk of infection was unacceptable. There are reminders posted everywhere to SHHH (Silent Hospitals Help Healing), but the loudness in the hallways was intolerable. There is beeping from cardiac monitors 24/7. The CNAs, in particular, think nothing of sitting around the hallways, ignoring call bells, and loudly calling to or chatting with each other, while student nurses do their jobs for them. If the unit even has a manager, he or she was entirely invisible, and the CNAs clearly have no fear of being seen lounging or complaining. Someone's idea of management is obviously "let's put up signs," rather than actually monitoring what's happening on the unit.

I have been a patient for the last 15 years at least and the level of disrespect, discomfort, lies, misconduct, lack of empathy, compromised ethics, and a lot more. I am very fortunate to have been recording every interaction with every employee in that place. I have treated every worker with the upmost respect. My appointment literally only takes 5 minutes tops. Blood pressure, urine, done. I have had false positives on my urinalysis 7 different occasions now in the last 13 months. According to my records not one of those particular urines were sent to the lab. I have used other methods just to prove with 100 % certainty that this was the case in several of these urinalysis. I have been on the suboxone along with an ADHD med and Anxiety med that I need to function. I was doing amazing until these wonderful people started playing games with my prescriptions and demanding I travel 45 minutes every two weeks for a 5 minute appt including a urine. I am on a low dose adhd control and low dose anxiety control med. I need to take these medications so I can run my business. These employees at the counter( answering phones) and unfortunately now Physician Assistants, Docs, etc truly get satisfaction on making your life hard and miserable. For example, being sent home for being 5 minutes late for the last appt of the day after I just paid 80 dollars to get there and back. Another, being forced to take multiple days of every 2 weeks because I have to fight to get my meds because they were either not called in by the end of the day( this has happened over 16 times) Most of us suffer from addiction and my heart goes out to all that do. I can promise you the majority at 1427 chapels shore does not. I tested positive for a drug that I know have not consumed in anyway possible and the doctor cut of my benzo med that I have been on for 20 years cold turkey, without verifying with the lab, by trying to tell me it wouldn't be safe to give me at least a couple days or a weeks worth due to one positive substance that does not even interact with the benzo I am on. I can tell you for sure what's not safe is to let a healthy individual as myself walk out with the risk of having a massive seizure at any point within the next two weeks. I asked for documentation where it states a doctor can ethically do as such. They gave me the suboxone agreement which is not a matter of life and death and not at all what I asked for. Anyway I can go on and on about the many incidents over the past 5 years at 1427 Chapel. I know there are many patients going through similar with this particular crew at 1427 Chapel. My heart goes out to you all as well. Start recording and documenting if you feel you are being treated unfairly and do not be afraid to question anything that does not make sense or feel right. Dr Aggarwal started something above the rest years ago. I pray people either switch locations and research their rights if some of what I said seems too familiar. Don't let them cost you your job or sobriety by there lack of compassion and understanding.

Well, that is far from the truth. I arrived shortly before 9 a.m. and was checked-in. There were no other adults there waiting to have blood drawn so I'm thinking "excellent timing!". While I waited, 4 pediatric patients were attended to. At no time did anyone come out and check on me. I was addressed by one technician who informed she only handled pediatric patients. "Congratulations!" Nonetheless 45 minutes later (and time I could have been at work) I did not see anyone. The attendant at the registration area had called twice to find out who was responsible for handling adult patients and she received two conflicting stories. The most ridiculous treatment I have ever received.

Where to even begin? I have had consistently bad experiences with this center, both the primary…read morecare and the specialists they referred me to except for the dermatologists. And my bad experiences seemed to stem pretty clearly from systemic problems with this place rather than by chance. I could share multiple stories, multiple visits because I stuck with this clinic for far too long. I didn't know there were any alternatives on my budget but learned there were. I have never been back. The lapses were serious - they weren't nothing -- and all i can think is that they get away with it because they are both big - attached to the medical school and hospital - and elite - they are part of Yale. Regulators, inspectors and investigators are probably really deferential. Some examples, in brief: Told medically indicated follow up tests weren't indicated. That was overturned. Told to return after a visit to give a urine sample that would take no time only to be parked in a waiting room all day then insulted and bullied for speaking up politely about it. On that same visit, told that the reason I had to come back to give a urine sample was because the first one was lost or contaminated. When I told them that I had never given a urine sample, I was told forcefully, repeatedly, their version again, to the point where I felt threatened that I was challenging their official story. and better not do it again. Took a full year to finish mammogram test -- a full year. The center is marked by drama and histrionics, chaos and covering up the chaos with hostile, bossy abusive treatment. The center has one or more absentee professors who are supposed to be overseeing first year graduates but aren't - and by that I mean, with one of the professors, you never, ever met her, not for test results, not to check their charge's work - nada - to the point where it was a violation. They tightly ration the care of specialists. When referring you to specialist care they will tell you you must wait three months or six months before calling the specialist clinic to make the appointment - you aren't allowed to call before then and if you do, you'l be told to call back after waiting the proscribed number of months. The staff is generally rude and dishonest, with some exceptions. There are a number of professors, of course, who have built their careers based on their work and journal articles on their dispensing medical care to the poor, which this center serves - it's a safety net primary care clinic. But the care center has no regard for the poor. The poverty and disenfranchisement of their patients is a reliable indicator to this clinic of what they can get away with and how little their patients should expect. Whatever bad stats emerge as to health outcomes at this clinic, they simply blame on the poor for being to under-served education wise to take better care of themselves - it's never that they aren't providing excellent care, it's always that the poor are so under-educated they don't know how to stay well. But no one is that stupid. Pause when you read that, next time you do, in one of their shiny journal articles. We are just fodder for careerists - they slander us to get ahead.

The very first receptionist I spoke to, upon hearing my story, IMMEDIATELY got me the earliest appointment possible. I was initially taken aback that I saw a different provider on each visit, but completely understand the thought behind it. My baby was delivered by Elizabeth Schwartz and Dr. Julie Shih was the OB on call. Both of them were warm, friendly, professional, and sympathetic listeners during my labor. My husband is a medical professional so he had technical questions which they gladly discussed with him, while focusing on giving me the direct down-to-earth care I wanted as I labored. I had some delivery complications which they handled beautifully, resulting in me and my baby both having an excellent hospital recovery. However, I did have some postpartum issues (unrelated to GNH's actions), and Elizabeth scheduled extra in-person and telehealth appointments to monitor my health and ensure I received the care I needed. My baby and I are now both healthy, and I was able to accomplish the drug-free labor that was my goal! Note: there is always an office wait time, which is difficult for my family situation. Otherwise this would be a 5-star review!
