Cupcakes were very dry. Decoration was nice, but wasn't a fan of the taste. Overall, very disappointed, felt like it was all style no substance. read more

Cute little find while visiting the Killeen area. We had just dined at the Thai restaurant next door. We chose to share dishes family style to save room for cupcakes!!! OK, in reality we were still full and stopped back at our friends garage for a soft sided cooler. From there, we headed on a two hour road trip north for an overnight stay. Cupcakes will travel!!! Next morning after picking at the hotel food, we busted out the cupcakes. Really delicious and obviously better than most of the continental fare offered by the La Quinta. read more

Was looking for a last minute cake for my moms bday and we were in the Harker Heights area. This place came up as a bakery. We stopped by and thank God they still had one cake left for the day. We took it. It was a Strawberry shortcake flavored one. We also took a look at the cupcakes they had on display, we are planning on coming back to get some to try all the flavors they have (which is many). The cupcake prices are like $3.75 or $3.95 ea I don't remember exactly. And the cake we bought was $45. Fair price for a simple looking cake. The flavor though was definitely on point. Had a strawberry mousse between the 2 layers of the cake which was super delicious. The only thing I didn't like much was that the bread part of the cake itself was a tad dry. But overall it was pretty good. We walked in there was a customer in front of us being helped by the lady behind the displays. Then I believe the owner was there as well but did not acknowledge us at all and continued to fix her hair and make up, believe maybe she was about to film something not sure. Once it was our turn, the lady behind the display was super super nice and helpful. The place was quiet, no music or anything going on in the background. It was clean, will be coming back to try those cupcakes! read more

Cupcakes tasted like cleaning products. Reported the concern to staff but they didn't seem to care much.

Cute place with lots of cupcakes to choose from. I really liked the variety that I tried of the cupcakes. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because I would have liked some of the cakes to be a little more moist for my taste buds. I will definitely go back in the future though. read more

Unfortunately, I did not get to try anything. I found this place on Yelp as I was driving in from another town on business. I walked in to see what gluten free goodies they had on hand. I was told anything gluten free needed to be requested a week in advance. I informed that I did not see anything on Yelp stating gluten free had to be requested in advance. A lady said everything is on their website. I went to their website but did not see anything about gluten free advance requests. I said that gluten free options were suggested on Yelp. She said they don't check/use Yelp, only their website. read more

lily's cake in incredibly unreliable and unprofessional. i put in an order more than a week in advance, with specific instructions and inspiration for the cake i wanted. over text with these people i highly stressed for them to do exactly what i wanted because we had a terrible mishap in the past where the cake did not look anything like how i expected (instead of piping a beautiful design they printed it out on edible paper) so this time i made sure the specifics were in the open. they did not respond to these requests for 5 days then just today said they could not make the cake, which we need in 3 days. the workers are incredibly rude and dont care that i dont have anywhere to get a cake that i need very soon. they are threatening us by screenshoting our texts and posting them (which is insane and i was not rude, but thorough about what the cake was supposed to look like ) i have been a customer for 15+ years but all i can say is that the customer service has gone down segnificantly and is terrible. now i dont have a cake, which i never even got the chance to compromise about. read more

I loved everything about this bakery! To start off with, everyone who works there is extremely friendly and helpful! When I came Into the bakery I wasn't sure what to expect for I had never done a gender reveal cake before and I needed it kinda quick~ the staff completely accommodated my time-frame and fit me into their schedule! The outcome of my cane was beyond perfect! The cake I received looked better in person than I could've ever imagined. But not only was it beautiful, it was Delicious (and I'm not much of a dessert fan)! I got the Lemon flavor and let's just say every last crumb of that cake was devoured. Let me start by saying Lily's cakes is the best. I needed a cake for my husband's birthday dinner on Friday and I placed the order on Tuesday . I know that is pushing it but they made it happen . My husband ordered this gender review cake for the family visit. We were really excited to cut into the cake and find out. However, when we cut into the cake it is brown color strawberry cake, no pink or blue in the center at all. It totally ruined our gender review party and appetite. We did not want to eat the cake anymore. The only reason I gave two stars is the cake came out pretty. And the owner is friendly. read more

My first time here and I tried the Nutella, Cookies and Cream, & Reese's Cupcakes. The presentation of the cupcakes were beautiful but the taste was not, it was very dry. The Nutella cupcake tasted nothing like Nutella and the Reese's had a weird after taste. These were not worth $3.25/cupcake. I was told their cupcakes are made daily, but it tasted like it was made a couple days ago and was stored in the refrigerator. This is bad business and bad standards. I will not be back. Sams club cupcakes tastes better and is cheaper! read more

Usually any business with the words pertaining to: sweet, delicious, and fat-inducing are certain to grab my attention. In this instance, CAKES, was all I needed to know. I'm a frequent passerby on HWY-190, and couldn't stand passing by any longer. Upon entering the establishment, we were given a warm welcome by the owners. They were running a special deal on cupcakes which was great because I wanted to try a lot of them! (Buy 5, get one free. Or, buy 10, get two free). I got the buy 5 deal and the total came close to $14. Kinda pricey, but if they were awesome, I could convince myself that they were worth it. Prices for individual cupcakes are: $1.75/each for vanilla, chocolate chips, red velvet, and marbled. $2.75/each for strawberry shortcake, chocolate Reese's, Italian cream, Boston cream pie, coconut and cream, chocolate dream, and German chocolate. $3.25/each for Nutella cupcake, or chocolate and strawberries w/ a chocolate covered strawberry on top. Ok, what did I think? Well first, let me forewarn you by noting that I really can't tolerate sweet icing, and usually just scrape it off. My idea of "just right" is H-E-B's elite (whipped cream) icing so my review will be a bit biased (please take that into consideration). The cupcakes I tried were: vanilla, red velvet, strawberry shortcake, chocolate Reese's, Boston cream pie, and Nutella. Most of the cupcakes had a large mound of icing, and unfortunately... it was just a bit too sweet for my liking and had to scrape it off :( So, therefore, I was just left with the cake part of the cupcake. Well, hey.. at least that part tasted great, but it didn't justify the price I spent. Hopefully, in the future, they will make some of their icing an equivalent to H-E-B's so I can eat the whole thing ;) 4* for having a unique bakery in the area to satisfy your sweet tooth. I didn't knock any stars off because of my intolerance to their icing, but for their cupcakes being on the pricey side. ***They also have cake pops and custom cakes. And, they stay open late! When I was pregnant this was the spot! Now after the baby I don't get to visit as much, but Lily's is amazing. Such a ridiculous about of frosting on my cake that I had to remove a lot of it just to make it edible. Very nice people, little pricy.. coming from Dallas I knew it wouldn't be cheap, but wanted to order a small birthday cake, with extremely simple fondant stripes, and a dozen cupcakes. It was more than what I would have ever paid back home for something much more fancy. Almost $200. We couldn't decide what flavors, so we took 6 cupcakes home to decide. My daughter ate one, I ate a couple of bites out of one, and then a single bite out of another... we didn't like any of them. And they made us both sick. We are sweets people, not gluten free or any of that, and these were so sickeningly rich., I cant even think of anything to compare them to. They were just not good at all. The red velvet did not taste anything like red velvet, neither did the cream cheese frosting, or the lemon, or any of the others. I was sad. Threw the rest away. I'm glad I didn't order the cake. :/ read more

My experience with Lily's has been hit or miss. A couple months ago, I got a dozen cupcakes to take to work (a variety). They were all very good: moist cake and very tasty frosting and fruit. Other times when I had been there and gotten cupcakes, they were dry. I don't feel they are consistent with their product. When I was in to buy cupcakes, I inquired about ordering a cake. It was an overall negative experience. I was told to get the order in as quick as possible and I felt like they really didn't want my business. Granted, this was in May for a cake I wanted in July. I understand that those months are big business for weddings and graduations. No one was rude, but I ended up going to HEB for my cake and while I would have liked a cake from a bakery, I didn't want to order from Lily's after my inquiry. read more

In the hunt to find a new cupcake spot, my journey has brought me to Lily"s. I have driven past plenty of times and today I decided to stop by. It was around 3:30 on a Saturday and they had a few selections left. A big plus was that she just finished baking up some lemon and cookies and cream cupcakes. So it was nice to have some fresh cupcakes. My fam got the snickers, Reece's, strawberry, Boston cream, plus the ones I mentioned earlier. The cupcakes were MOIST, but the icing on all of them except the Boston were way to sweet and rich for me and my wife. It was my only time going there and don't know if they are always like that. With that said I would give her another shot because there were other cupcakes that I wanted to try that were not available then. For now I would give her a 3.5-3.8 out of 5 compared to other cupcakes I have had in the area. read more

Unfortunately these folks have alot to learn about running a business. I tried to order a sheet cake with a week's time to process the order. I was told they were too busy. This was while the service counter girl was on the phone taking orders. Went to Walmart and got a special ordered cake they way I wanted it and less than half the price of Lilly's without the drama. I try to support small business, and I fore see this one failing in the next 24-36 months due to the "Can't Do" attitude. read more
