Regardless, Ron L.'s professional approach at this stage led me to select them for the job, and I did. They sent an email on Thursday that read, "Great news, we'll be on your job tomorrow." Okay...that works. And then a crew showed up completely unannounced at my home that evening at 6:30 because they were there to measure the job. Umm...didn't the "office" send you the specs? No...that's why we're here. Okay, strike one, and I sent a message to Ron and another company representative, and crickets.... The crew came back on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to do the job. It's a good thing I didn't intend to use my backyard space for what should have been a one-day event (according to Ron L. and every other screening company I spoke with). And then the crew left on Sunday. No notice, no final report, no review with the customer...just drove off. Then I checked out the work and found that they ran the screening from one side of the lanai to the other. Had Ron L. bothered with any quality checks, that may not have happened. But they didn't, so now I had to address it, and I did. The crew made excuses and said that's how they did "rescreens." The same crew came back out the next weekend, fixed the problem that I (not the company) found, and again...drove off with zero notification. Then, 2 weeks later, I received the final invoice. So, of course, I asked the question again. How do I know the work was done to any kind of standard? So far, I have had to address every issue with the company and its crew. Here I go again, and I contacted the company. Only then did someone who said they were the project manager reach out to me directly (first time) to address my concerns. It's at this point that I told the individual (I'll leave your name out of it, but you know who you are) that I was disappointed in the company's ability to communicate to me what was going on. Of course, I again addressed the crew's attempt to shortcut the job, and the response I got was "they're lazy." So here we have a project manager (who doesn't know what it means to manage a project) who is diming out their work crews. They're only lazy because you are an ineffective manager. They offered an apology and only then said they would come out to review the crew's work and thus do their JOB. I offered my comments as constructive feedback and asked if they were willing to offer any additional concessions (other than an apology and acknowledgement that they need to do better). The response I got was that the work was done. Okay, fair point...but I had to do YOUR job and inspect the work. Ron L. has a terrific reputation for building cages, and I will likely use them again if I ever need a new one or a rebuild...but I simply can't trust them to do my screens, especially when they hire out subcontractors and don't follow up on the work. They lied to me and tried to deceive me. I can hope they can figure out how to transition their build expertise into their larger business plan, and remember that the customer (read the one who is paying the bills) should be your primary focus.

I did my due diligence, got 3 quotes and not only were they the least, they offered the tear down at no expense if I went with them. Both other quotes had a 2k charge plus one of them wanted half of the contract price advanced to them upon materials delivery. And maybe that's normal but I wanted my insurance money to sit in the bank until the very last minute. RL Aluminum did a fantastic job and I couldn't have hoped for a nicer company to handle my cage rebuild. I highly recommend them.

I would give negative stars if I could. So many issues! First off if you are going to hire them I…read morehighly recommend you make sure in the contract it states they have to complete the job by a date you agreed by or they have to refund your deposit. I was told they can get me on the schedule to complete within a couple weeks after the permit was approved. It took them 6 weeks. They failed to stay on the top of the permit application. I had concrete contractor on standby to start on the footer. It took several calls to their office for permit status and they were not able to give me an answer. I ended up looking up the permit status myself online to learn that their permit application was approved more than a week prior. So I was the one that had to tell their office that their permit was approved and we were moving forward with getting the footer done. Same thing happened when the screen enclosure was completely finished. I had to remind them several times to order the final inspection so it could be closed out. It took a couple weeks after the job was done for them to finally do it. Tampa Screen's pricing was much higher than many quotes I received. They were recommended by our paver contractor and I decided to pay a higher premium using Tampa Screens for peace of mind the job was going to be done right. I figured their employees were well trained and supervised. But instead I learned that they subcontract out ALL of their jobs, and they have no employees except their internal office sales reps. So it was absolutely pointless to pay Tampa Screens the higher premium when they would be using one of the many options you can find online for much less. The subcontracted crew that came out only worked a couple hours a day and sometimes skipped days when I was told by Tampa Screens it would be a 2 day job. It took them almost 2 weeks to complete the job. In my initial quote Tampa Screen tried to upcharge me $600, which I declined, to allow me to have the travertine installed before the screens were added so that the screens wouldn't get full of dust. Sure that might make sense if they were staying on a tight schedule and getting the job done in 2 straight days like they said, but that did not happen. Now we get to the workmanship. They were absolute amateurs! I had to call Tampa Screens to point out they were doing the end posts wrong and it would not have passed permit inspection, which they ended up having to redo. Their cuts were way off in several places causing large gaps that got filled in by a whole bunch of caulk. Their caulking job looked like it was done by a 5 year old. They over screwed the screws into the aluminum causing the frame to dent. One of the screen doors was installed crooked and squeaks loudly when opening. They missed a screw in the footer that was caught in the inspection that I ended up screwing in myself to get it to pass. Tampa Screen said they would come out and clean up the caulking and replace the door but months later that still hasn't happened. And now I have water leaking within the composite roof when it rains. I called Tampa Screens on May 12 about the leak. They told me I had to text a number to get on the schedule to repair, which I did. I got no answer and texted them again the following day. They finally responded they wrote up a warranty ticket and would be in touch when there was dry weather. It's been almost 3 weeks of absolute no rain until yesterday and still now word from Tampa Screen to fix it. Instead of waiting around for them to hire another subcontractor I decided to take this matter into my own hands and fix it myself. I very much regret hiring this company
