we made a special 3 hour drive to the coast just to visit lily lane. we were very disappointed. I don't want this to sound like a bashing review, because im sure the owners do the best they can. I just want others to take heed so they're not disappointed like we were. the place is in rough shape- from the entry gate to the growing field. not that it matters because im sure the plants will look fine next year in the garden. there was lots of debris here and there. the growing field was in very rough shape, as well as the plants themselves. the owners were very friendly, very knowledgeable, and an absolute joy to deal with. however, the plants were over-priced in our pinion and in terrible condition. some plants were not available due to them needing to be divided first... ok, so, divide it then! I guess I was expecting to get fresh plants from the field. instead, what I got were divisions that were already "potted" before hand. again however, they were in very rough shape. one was actually a bare rooted plant- which is fine- that i believe was just laying around in the small, "these are the ones for sale area", and shoved into a plastic grocery bag. the roots seemed rubbery and dry. I really don't even know if we got the actual plants that we picked out because there was no identifying tags in the pots! prices are sky high for the quality of the plants. we were given a list of plants that also showed the prices. some were as high as $25! most ranged between $10 and $15. for a daylily that was in very poor condition...? id much rather pay $7-$10 for one at the local garden center. none the less, we ended up getting three plants for a total of $45- mostly because we had driven 3 hours to get there and the owners were absolutely a joy to deal with. very friendly and very willing to give free advice and free info. however, the money spent was not worth it in my opinion. stick to the local nursery by your house. read more
