I purchased my first sunset tankini at California East 2 years ago and its my favorite. It has lasted me so long, but it was time to purchase my second for some variety. I went directly back to California East. The owner is so friendly, patient, and helpful. She gave me a number of suits to try on based on my preference. Showed me online additional color options and was able to order my suit as it wasn't in stock. The price can be scary, but it's worth it for a good fitting long lasting quality suit! I purchased two dresses and a bathing suit. I was bummed when I got home and didn't love one of the dresses (didn't try it on in the store). I called and emailed the shop and they got back to me right away saying I could send the dress back and receive a credit to the online shop. This really made my day and I think this type of service at small boutiques is more rare these days.

She went back to the store she bought the first sweatshirt, but they wouldn't let her return it. She was super sad, and when she came back to Beachcomber, the kind woman overheard the story and gave her the new sweatshirt for free. She is super kind and knows her products, marking them at a super duper reasonable price and choosing to sell things from companies (eg pura vita) that provide jobs to people in poverty in other countries. The clothing, which features men's and women's mainstream sizes (I didn't observe any plus sizes), is very sporty and androgynous, and prices run about $28 for a t-shirt, $68 for a hoodie, $148 for a men's plaid button-down, $110 and up for sunglasses, $68 beach towel, and a variety of very delicate jewelry with petite pendants on fragile-looking chains that spoke of understated, modern elegance. Nothing here is overtly feminine, and the sportiness is further driven home by the presence of several giant windsurfing boards mounted along the wall near the back of the store. It's not the kind of store I'd personally shop in, because as I mentioned above, they don't carry plus sizes in women's clothing, nor do they share my aesthetic for jewelry, etc....But I feel it's important to give credit where credit is due, and I cannot stress enough what an awesomely humane gesture it is for a shop to make such an effort to make their store accessible to ALL people, whether able-bodied or those who live in wheelchairs.
