Our son really enjoys the classes; they play indoors in the fall when the weather gets lousy.

This rec center isn't bad. We came by for a play date with some friends in the jungle gym. The jungle gym is in the room further back in the building, and most of the room is taken up with a large three or four level play structure. There's a few slides on it, some ropes to climb over, a little obstacle course, and lots of fun to be had. All the kids were loving it and we spent at least an hour and a half playing around and I think they could have gone for more. There's an $8 fee per child to go to the jungle gym, as of November 2025. They take cash or a card at the front desk. Definitely ask about wrist bans, or if you need to keep your receipt... there was a sign on the jungle gym door that was pretty adamant about having one, but no one in our group of five kids had one. They may only be for busy days but better to be safe than have to convince someone you've already paid. I also noticed that for the week of Thanksgiving they're doing open play throughout the week, taking reservations to make sure you can get in. If you'd like to find an easy way to let your kiddos expend some energy, this could be a good spot. There are a few tables for parents to sit at. No shoes on the play structure, and don't forget to bring socks!

The two young men who worked at the front desk were also very helpful. There is a kitchen, private bathroom, and plenty of tables and seating. This is a great party space.

If you or your kids love to play soccer look no further than Little Legends!…read more My son & daughter have both enjoyed Little Legends. Over the past 2+ years I have enrolled them in their practice clinics, game clinics & camps. What I love about Little Legends, there are so many things; To start Coach Tony & Coach George the owners - they are truly the Nicest Guys! They are experienced soccer players & coaches & they love what they do & have a true gift for working & bonding with children (toddler & up). Their staff also awesome (special shout out to one of our favs Coach Danielle) - it's true what they say good people attract good people! All the other coaches have played soccer & have been trained how to teach & coach soccer. Their clinics are really affordable & they offer great opportunities to make up missed clinics/classes. They teach your children soccer skills, sportsmanship skills & as a result soccer is fun! There is no denying that the Little Legend's "real" coaches have so much more impact on teaching skills than parent volunteer coaches as in AYSO. Lastly, yes your kids are learning but this is still a super friendly & fun atmosphere which is enjoyable for the kids & parents! I had my daughter in AYSO for 3 years she never really got a grip on the game, lots of running around but not really skills or even a true sense of the rules. Coach Tony told me "have her play with the boys & she will become a better player." Well, despite my concern, he was exactly right. She took a 9 week session with them & she was on fire! She Loves the game, confident, fearless & continued until she was too old for their clinics. My son also loves Little Legends it's always a highlight of his week!

Amazing soccer program for younger children starting at age 2. We enrolled our 3 children this…read moresummer ( 2 yr old twins, and 3 year old) and couldn't be happier. The toddler (24-36 months) program is a parent tot class that teaches basic soccer skills by using fun age appropriate games. Class is 60 minutes and my twins lose interest after about 45 minutes so I think a shorter class might be better. That said the coaches are very engaging and they love going and getting high fives after scoring. My 3 year old loves her class as well. I'm especially impressed with coach Adam who manages to draw my (extremely shy) daughter on the field and have her playing happily in a matter of minutes. If he sees her starting to wander towards me, he immediately refocuses her. At this age they still focus on skill building and often separate the kids into small groups for more individualized attention. This is a high quality kids program that shouldn't be missed.

Quite a large park on the far Northwest side! Jefferson Memorial Park, once called simply Jefferson…read morePark, had "Memorial" added because it is named for Thomas Jefferson and to keep it from being confused with another park of the same name. It has multiple baseball fields and other sports spaces and it also has a natatorium. There are a lot of activities that take place at this park year-round, some of which take place in the quite large field house. What's especially cool about this park is that it has its own orchestra! No, really. The Chicago Citywide Symphony Orchestra is an all-volunteer, community orchestra that rehearses and plays here. The orchestra has been in existence for 75 years as of 2022, and I'm really hoping to take in a performance sometime soon. Because Jefferson Park has a lot of things happening, I'm going to try to keep up with the happenings here. It's not so far away that it would be a pain to get to, there's parking nearby the park (paid and maybe unpaid?), and green space is always appreciated!

The room itself seems super old and the fixtures and ceilings remind me of another century. There is a stage and an adjoining room for smaller meetings. They also have a basketball court on the main floor. I was so lucky to find parking right outside the building but there is metered and non-metered parking within the vicinity of the field. I seriously cannot believe this is Chicago Park District!
