Dolphin Watersports

Dolphin Watersports

First experience on a jet ski, and our guide (think it was John but for some reason Matt is popping…read moreinto my head as well) made it a great one! Super easy to book online (and fill out some online waivers beforehand). Each rental costs total of about $200 for a single rider. We met at a boat ramp, and there was a quick intro of how to operate the jet skis (quite easy, so no worries!). There's was a compartment on each ski to keep our phones as well but we kept our other things like flip flops, keys, etc. in his truck. The marshlands were the perfect place to ski-- calm waters and maze-like twists and turns made it really fun and easy to ride at top speeds. We spotted many dolphins as well. (You're it going to see them jump up or their faces, more like their fins, but it's neat to know they're hanging out so close-- Crazy!). For those adventurous enough, you can "jump waves," and he'll take you to the ocean and give it a go! I just watched because I was curious, but it is really choppy! Got a little nauseated, so cruising around the marshlands was definitely great :D John was super nice, looked out for us all, and was enthusiastic and funny. He took photos of us and sent them afterwards as well. And wear a bathing suit, because you're going to get wet! This was a great experience as a solo adventurer but would make a fun date or family outing too!

Mark, the owner, took us to hunt for sharks teeth and (not pictured) sand dollars! We even saw a few dolphins. He was super knowledgeable about the area. Honestly, if I lived there this would be a monthly treat for the whole family. Book! You won't regret it.

What a Total watersport experience. We started with a Sailboat Ride the first day. Captain Jake…read morewas an experienced sailor and made the ride really fun and wet. He was a pleasure to talk with and had a lot of great recommendations for other activities at Downwind Sails as well as other Myrtle Beach locations. We decided to parasail on day two. I have parasailed in a lot of other destinations, but this is the most professional and safety conscious crew that still know how to make it FUN. Not to mention, you get a free banana boat ride to and from the Parasail boat. Will definitely be back for more.

One of the highlights of our Girl's Trip was definitely parasailing with Downwind Sails…read moreWatersports! We arrived at around 1:45pm hoping to be able to book for a 2pm slot and thankfully, they were super accommodating. Once we signed our waivers, we paid the parasailing fee ($98pp after tax) and the additional photo fee which was $30. After we dropped off all of our belongings at the Reservation Area, we were directed to the beach to grab our life vests. With it being Mid June, the sand was very hot but once we got to the water, we were fine. What we were unaware of was the banana boat that we had to take to get to the parasailing boat. It was definitely a pleasant surprise but a fun experience nonetheless. Once we arrived to the parasailing boat, the guys were extremely helpful and informative. They hooked us up to the harnesses and gave us a quick rundown of the rules. Parasailing was, by far, one of the most breathtaking and invigorating experiences I've ever had! I absolutely loved it and it was quite peaceful. Unfortunately, my friend did get queasy after a while so we had to cut our ride a bit short but the guys were very nice and made sure to give my friend some water until the other couple finished their ride. The rides lasted maybe 8-10 mins. If you're planning to visit Myrtle Beach or even live in the area, definitely check out Downwind Sails Watersports. There are height and weight restrictions so definitely check out their site for all the details but the staff were wonderful and the parasailing was amazing!

i love this place. the workers are super sweet. i love you sam and jakethe tiktoks are so good lolread more

THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST COMPANY MY FAMILY HAS EVER HAD AN EXPERIENCE WITH! First off, when…read moreboarding the pontoon boat a worker informed us where the lifejackets were and where things were incase the coast guard once again pulled over one of their boats, apparently last time their boat was checked out by coast guard not enough life jackets were onboard for the current occupants. THEN, not only did the pontoon boat completely stop working after 40 minutes out on the water (out of the three hours we rented it for), but the workers (while pleasant) took almost two hours to get us back and docked. Did I mention one of them also CRASHED the pontoon boat into another boat that was docked while bringing us back?? Hardly what I would consider a light crash either! My family and I were willing to overlook the whole fiasco when they offered to give us a refund or swap out our wasted time for jet skis the next day. We happily accepted the jet skis, HOWEVER were informed the next day neither offer was possible as "the employee who offered us that was not authorized to do so," according to the manager. While the workers were pleasant enough, the manager had a horrible attitude and ended up refunding my family only 20% of the $500 rent, even though we only used the pontoon boat for 40 minutes out of 3 hours. Manager also accused my family of breaking the boat WHEN HER OWN EMPLOYEES COULDN'T GET IT TO WORK AND SAID THE BATTERY DIED BECAUSE THEY HAD WASHED THE BOAT EARLIER WHILE PLAYING USING ITS BLUETOOTH SPEAKERS AND THE ENGINE WAS OFF! By far the WORST experience we've EVER had with a company -- horrible customer service, zero empathy, and a lack of boat knowledgeable workers (by the manager's own admission). The workers themselves were at least far more friendly, but customers are punished for workers' mistakes and faulty equipment. In case a similar incident happens to you, I strongly suggest going to ANY OTHER COMPANY! When something goes wrong the manager claims ZERO fault to avoid refunding people. DISHONEST, CORRUPT COMPANY!
