I've had a couple eye exams with these people and had some glasses made too. Still having trouble seeing which they blamed on cataracts, thought odd, so went to Costco optical and found out neither of my glasses they made had distant prescription in them. WTH, only time I wear glasses is for distant. Don't waste your money with these people. Only ones I could find in VSP vision care.Don't get tricked into any VSP plans. read more

I went in with an emergency, needed my glasses simply tightened. I was recommended by a friend, and this will be the last time I even consider lighthouse as an option. Somehow my nose pad was broken off (when I never even asked for them to be touched). I've never heard anything good about this place, just that they fuck you over. Was not called when my "trial" box arrived to schedule the fitting and training and when I called I was informed that the next available fitting would be mid March, 2 months after my exam. I was not informed of this wait period prior and was laughed at when I expressed my frustration. This business has zero customer service skills and is highly unprofessional. For Tillamook, it's great. For real world, it's sub par. So far I have had an appointment, as have my two youngest children and my adult son. During our visits the staff is pretty professional. They're not really warm or inviting, but they're professional at first. After you get to know them, they're pretty friendly. This is with the exception of the man in the sales area. He's all about sales and it shows. He is friendly, but it's hardly genuine. There are three exams available in total. First you're taken to a room where you're checked for Glaucoma and things like that. You'll get that little blast of air in your eye here and take some tests on a few different machines. Then you're either delivered to the eye doctor or you're deposited back into the waiting room. The eye exam is just what you'd expect at any eye appointment. After this part you can opt to have your eyes dilated for the final test, or pay an upcharge for tests that do a lot more than the traditional tests done while you're dilated. I paid for the additional, or agreed to anyway, but it seemed to slip their minds and it wasn't done. The selection of frames isn't vast but there are some nice ones. There's no insurance offered. When I asked about it, the salesman kind of scoffed at the idea, saying that's how America's Best and VIsta Optical make money off of us. Kind of like a suckers bet in a casino, or like taking insurance when an ace is dealt in a Blackjack game. Be that as it may, I use the heck out of my insurance. Glasses came in about a week, looked great. We got the self changing kind that auto-darken when you go outside. My son has already lost his. Replacement is available with a 20% discount on any item that's already been purchased. read more

I was a new patient and when I first walked in I got a pretty cold reception. Filled out my paperwork and then began to look at the glasses while I waited. I was looking at some of the frames and when I moved on to another part of the room to look at more frames, the receptionist came behind me and locked the cabinet I had just been looking in making me feel like she thought I was going to steal something. The selection of frames was very small too. Another receptionist came out and picked up my file and another patient walked in at the same time, she set my file down right where the other patient could see it which really bothers me. Then I think she realized that it was mine and picked it back up. When I was pulled into the back, the woman who did my initial testing (who was also the first receptionist) was very cold, hardly spoke two words to me during the testing. The Dr. was friendly but did not explain any of the tests to me or my results unless I asked which was very frustrating. When I went to pay they asked if I wanted to order contacts, I asked how much they charge for my brand and it was double what 1-800 CONTACTS charges. I politely told them that and the receptionist began to get a little snippy about it saying that if I didn't order from them my insurance wouldn't pay for my exam which is absolutely not true, my insurance has always paid for my exams no matter where I get my contacts from. I don't know if they were having a bad day or what but from the first phone call to make the appointment up until I left the exam I felt like I was inconveniencing them, I won't go back there next year. read more

Save yourself money, time and trouble and do NOT go here. This Dr. did not measure my prescriptive correctly. I had to get RE-examined at a different clinic just months later. My exams by other clinics both before and after seeing the Dr. at Lighthouse gave readings that were consistent with each other. Only the exam at Lighthouse vision was off base. They refused to take accountability for the botched exam saying I was outside of the 3 month window. The reality is it took more than 3 months of trial and error with glasses to finally break down and just get a new exam. The sad reality is you will have to drive to a major city, most likely Portland to get a decent eye exam. read more

Very friendly and professional staff and Doctor. I understand the office was remodeled. It has a great glasses dispensary... very upscale.The Doctor has the latest equipment and his exams are the most thorough I have ever had! Their prices are very reasonable and competitive with the other optometry offices in town (I have compared). There are plenty of glasses to choose from with many being designer style. I will recommend this office to all my friends and family!! read more

Went in recently for an eye exam. They were referred to us by the Tillamook Lions Bank. What a great experience! They were not only kind and professional, but found that my wife had cataracts in both eyes and needed, of course, to have them removed. They referred us to a eye surgery center, set up the appointments and even were able to arrange a driver for us at no charge to take us all the way to the valley and back for both surgery dates. I too had a similar experience at this vision clinic....a cold reception, less than friendly service and felt as though my issue was more of a bother. Their prices are exorbitant and have a they minimal selection of products. I will not return for additional products or services. read more

I called Lighthouse Vision to get information about a prescription for my 1 year old. Everyone was very friendly, specifically Lowell who was also very accommodating. He was able to find frames, fit her and order the glasses within a day. The glasses arrived exactly when he told me they would. I like to compliment companies who care about their customers, and who actually follow through on what is promised. It doesn't happen very often anymore. read more
