I don't live here but I had a chance to tour the property with an elderly relative who was interested. The buildings are two or three years old and seem to be in very good condition. The apartments are on the small side but are of the "open concept" design, making them feel more spacious than they are. The appliances are modern and energy efficient. There are laundry rooms in each of the buildings. Heat and hot water are included. The bathrooms in the apartments are enormous. Most units are partially handicapped accessible and some are fully accessible. Rent prices vary according to your household income, and income limits apply. There is plenty of parking. The neighborhood is pretty. The buildings are within walking distance of several trails and there is even a small launch where you could put a canoe into Long Creek. A beautiful and relatively unknown park, Jordan Park, is also nearby. Hannaford and the Maine Mall are less than 10 minutes away by car. If you need to use public transportation, you'll have to walk up a pretty steep hill to get to the nearest bus stop, which is unfortunate for folks with health problems or mobility limitations. And forget trying to walk that hill in the winter time unless you've got Yak Trax.

There are also the small niceties, Starbucks, Congress Square Restaurant, two amazing hair salons, a tattoo shop or three, Otto pizza, Wild Burritos, Flea For All, the Westin, and of course the State Theater. We had browsed some places online and has lots of ideas what we were looking for. She helped guide through many of the details of house shopping. She showed us what made each home special. She was very accommodating with our busy schedules when setting up viewings. We had a lot of fun as we scoped out each new potential home. She responded to all correspondences quickly and answered so many questions for us. She gave us lots of info to review and helped make this process easy. She helped us find the house that was perfect for us in so many ways. She made suggestions as we inquired. Closing was so simple, she worked hard to compete the extensive paper work and we just showed up to sign. She was a delight to work with and I would highly recommend her to anyone.

This realtor got in the middle of a construction dispute, where she had no business! She was asked…read moreby the builder, not the owner of the property, to find a buyer. Not once did she ask the owner if they wanted to sell their first home, their dream home on 21 Stonewall Rd Harpswell, ME. The land was purchased from an employee of Roxanne's and cleared by owner. The owner put heart and sole into this property, knowing it was their forever home, their retirement home. Everything had been paid in cash, so no mortgage. The builder took numerous short cuts, code violations that Roxanne completely ignored, while she searched for a buyer. The owner of property was eventually railroaded into selling at a huge loss and forced to move in one day, with no plans. Roxanne's only interest was a commission, not the lives she destroyed in the process. When deadlines were missed and owner wanted to null and void what they didn't understand, owner was still forced to follow through. This was an illegal sale, but that didn't matter to Roxanne York! If Roxanne had actually asked the owner, if they wanted to sell, Roxanne would have learned, they had no intentions of selling!! Roxanne York's greed cost the once in a lifetime dream of a first time home owner

Rented a house in Falmouth for August '23 through Labor Day from this agency. It was billed by the…read moreagent, Adam Shapiro, as "the Greenwich of Portland". As it turns out, the house sits right next to a busy parking lot for a beach with dirty water that smells like sewerage at low tide. Cars sit idling in the lot until 3 or 4 in the morning every night; it feels unsafe having them there. The front door lock is very difficult to close and the lock is not solid, offering very little security. The lower floor of the house reeks so badly of dampness and mildew that everyone had to move upstairs; the mildew smell in the bedrooms downstairs is overpowering. When I told Apex about this, they refused to come to the house to get an idea of how badly the moisture has affected that level of the house. The upper level of the house also has a terrible problem with moisture and a mildew smell. Upstairs shower stall smells moldy and damp, towels turn mildewy after 1 use because of the humidity problem in the house. The dishwasher failed to turn on and run the cycle. Apex sent the cleaning person over and she was unable to do anything. They were no help at all, it was just "no, no, no" from them. The oven light stays on no matter what, you have to push it closed forcefully, but then the light just goes back on after a few seconds. The electric window blinds stopped working 1 week into our stay; they had to send a tech over to recharge the motors, which took an hour of my time and attention. I checked out of the house August 23, almost 2 weeks early because I didn't; feel safe there and because the house smelled so bad. The agent, Adam Shapiro, did not reply to any of my texts or calls informing him of this; he just took the money and ran

We extended the contract on the understanding there would be flexibility, so were surprised by a…read morerequest for $ 3350 to terminate at the end of the original 6 month lease. We were surprised as there was no provision for this in the lease nor in Maine law. Another tenant was lined up, Apex tried to block the tenant until we paid $ 3350. This fee included $ 1950 of agents fees (a double dip - Apex would charge this again with respect to the new tenant), a $ 250 credit check on the new tenant and $ 1250 rent shortage. The dispute was inflamed by lengthy late night emails from Chris at Apex. On legal advice we declined to pay the spurious charges as they had no basis in contract nor Maine law. Fortunately, Apex pulled this stunt prior to our last months rent going out hence we remained in control of our money. We paid the rent difference, we paid for cleaning, we left the property in excellent condition. I would recommend to avoid Apex as a landlord or as a renter. If you have to rent from them, don't set up automated rent payments. Don't expect resolution of issues in the property. If you're a landlord, you should think carefully about the losses you could incur if your tenants depart on acrimonious terms due to provocation by your agent. And they charge you 20% for this!

I wanted to stick with a local rental agency so hoped they could help. Obviously not. Given the description in the listing ". . . this home has been lovingly cared for and is in fantastic condition.", I had high expectations. Sadly, upon entering the house, I was greeted by huge mold stains on the wood floors along with dirt marks and leftover carpet liners along the edges of the walls. The downstairs bathroom looked like it was part of an abandoned gas station. Granted, the house was in good condition, but "fantastic"? That's way beyond a euphemism of "cozy" for a small space. That was a complete misnomer. Therefore, I don't think I'll be wasting my time looking at other homes listed by this agency.
