I received an email from ALL STAR Business Brokers LLC, Mr. Cary Hansen, pertaining to an…read moreadvertisement I placed in Craigslist for a business I had for sale. I called and emailed All Star several times, never a call back and never a person answering the phone at their place of business, always a recording. Having received a follow up email from them, I again called, but got a text message reply. I replied to the text, then called twice again, finally getting someone to answer, "how can I help you". I replied that yes, I could be helped if someone answered the phone, I was promptly told "why don't you go f#!* yourself" and the person hung up. I did receive a follow up email saying that he receives calls from "dirt bags" in Florida all the time (I happen to have a FL # but own several businesses in MA). Well, use your own judgement, but in the business of marketing businesses, I'd suggest the little things count... like answering calls, returning calls promptly, and having a professional demeanor. All Star certainly earns a F- on all accounts.

Mr Carey will be extremely polite and willing to persuade you to buy and sell through him. This occurs until you sign the initial deposit. Rest assured that he will transfer this deposit immediately to his account. This happened to me too. I gave him a two-weeks offer as well as a deposit for the business he was selling. One week later the business was not for sale anymore because his landlord refused to repeat the contract.. Not only did Mr. Carey not notify me for this happening, but in his last email he claims to not have contacted with the client. He does this with the only intention to not give me back the deposit I signed. He keeps lying saying that he will be back in the office in this or that date but he is yet to show up in the office. I still do not know if he has used my money. In the next step, I will let you know what will happen. My lawyer will follow the process further.
