I saw D Sparks 3 times. But I came to understand she uses the same template for every person wanting to sell a particular device. Basically it's quid pro quo liability medicine with a wave machine. I asked what she she knows about thoracic spine pain because most people have lower back pain. She said the entire spine is the same and pushed for the third time an expensive implant that wouldn't work for me. She doesn't listen, only wanted to sell herself and this expensive device that only works part of the time. Can slip, get infected, and needs care itself. Saying she is the only surgeon on the planet who tests first to make sure it will actually work totally and completely. I did everything she asked of me. More MRI's, got a therapist, urine testing, an internist, more X-rays.. She recommended tele-doctors telling me they won't say no. I would have done make-up which she offers evidently as a pain remedy anything gentle. Why not massage that might feel better? Or crystals? I would have tried almost anything to establish trust, but my sense was she was a narcissist and a sales person and all about the packing the sale and making the money. People are watching and she said no medication without treatments. I asked if she considers me an addict? She said no. But she wouldn't even offer me a Lidocaine patch. I reminded her at least 5 times that I had a reaction to a certain medication and she didn't seem to remember. She said maybe a patch of that. She argued that less of the medicine that almost killed me might work. We discussed again the battery implant, she kept returning to that. I told her about my tingling and that I had seen Dr Rau for migraines. He thought I was taking too much EXCEDERIN. She told me there was no such thing as kickback headaches. I told her we can all learn from each other but she was just insulted. It took me as a new patient about 8 weeks to get an appointment. I called once a week and only got 1 call back. Those of us in pain are divorced from our lives. Finally I just went into the office. They were confirming my insurance evidently. I thought that just takes a phone call but I didn't complain for fear of upsetting the LIGHTHOUSE. I'm not saying don't use her if you have have money and time and lower back pain that isn't chronic give her a try. I need a doctor who will let me ask questions my back pain is upper and more unusual. She didn't have compassion for me. She got very gruff and I asked why she was pushing Nervo the implant so hard, was she a consultant for them? She said she never took a penny and tossed me out of her office. I just found a website that said she took over 5000 dollars from 2018 alone in just chow alone and that is the amount reported. No big deal, except she lied about it with such exasperation. See link.
