My initial visit was…read morescheduled for 90min in Oct or Nov (I can't remember) she had a emergency, a death in the family in which my appt had to be reschedule. No problem. Things happen and death is definitely something that can't be controlled. I completely understood. However, they could not schedule me for another whole month away. I already waited about a month for the 1st appt to have to wait another month again plus was out of meds that was needed. When I finally met with her, she seemed ok and some what understanding until we went over my meds list. I explained to her as well filled out the paperwork prior to the visit, all the meds that I have been on that worked for me in the past and did not work for me. I was not interested in trying all these different meds for my Anxiety. I was diagnosed with Generalized anxiety disorder also ADHD. Since I am not new to this (therapy or meds)I wanted to stick with what work for me. It's like she was NOT listening to what I was saying. Instead of prescribing what I asked her for (meds I was recently on and worked) she decided to give me something totally different and one of the meds I was on, she gave me a very low dose, stating she had to start me off low. I explained to her, that did not work for me, however a certain dosage did work. Again, she still would not prescribe that dose. Plus also told her the fact that I have been unable to focus, unable to organize etc. I requested to be put on Adderall since that is what my last therapist was going to start me on before I stopped going to them. She refused to put me on that also. She stated that would be too many controlled meds. Mind you, all these meds are meds I was already on except the Adderall. My anxiety/mood had been all over the place. Let's just say bringing in my New Year (2025) was horrible, a total disaster. Ended up breaking up with my boyfriend of 5yrs ( he kept begging for me to take my meds- well I had none to take because the doctor would not prescribe them)he kept saying you are off your meds. I could tell. My kids was saying the same things to me. I was like a ticking time bomb!! When I was taking my meds and the correct dosage, I was calm and under control. Not on them, I'm like the bride of chucky (lol). Lastly, I was so not focused and could not get focused or organized for anything. No matter how hard I tried. I am always on top of things, cleaning. Managing my finances very well, budgeting etc.. I complained to her of being off balanced, not focused etc. She refused to put me on something, plus I barely sleep. Well I ended up over drawing my bank account, not 1 day, several days. That is so not like me. I emailed her, texted begging her to help me. Help me get focused and back organized. Again she refused. I have more than 1 account. Each time I was over drawn I had to pull money from my other account to get me out the negative. Now $2700 later, I realized Nicole Thompson is not the therapist for me. I met with her today just to express these things to her. With tears in my eyes, I told her all I am saying right now, NOT ONE APOLOGY FROM HER! She just said she was not able to start off providing me with those meds. She had to start off the way she did. REALLY! I thought that was very very insensitive to say the least! I WILL NEVER EVER GO TO THIS PLACE OR ADVISE ANYONE TO BE SEEN BY HER!! We deal with enough having these issues we deal with everyday, but to also have a DR who really could careless just makes things harder!! I hope everyone have a great 2025!

However, at the recommendation of a childhood friend, I scheduled an appointment with ACC. Dealing with loneliness, depression, and marriage problems I was a complete mess. I could not find peace with my relationships nor with myself. Amarie L. is a compassionate, faithful guide God uses to help the hurting and healer collide. Not only did she listen attentively, she parroted back to me things I already knew or she would offer me constructive options with wise counsel that I would implement into the situation and see positive results. Today, I am at peace with my life and the choices I make and my relationships are the best they have ever been! Our experience with Blanchard was very disappointing and, in my opinion, misleading when it comes…read moreto mental health. My partner was struggling with trauma-related psychotic episodes and alcohol use. During intake, both she and I stressed her mental health needs -- yet she was placed in IOP 3 for substance abuse only. For three weeks she attended every session, but there was little to no support for her underlying mental health. They mentioned GeneSight testing to evaluate her medications, but it never happened. She also received no coping tools for her trauma or racing thoughts. When she inevitably hit a trigger and drank at home, she was told the only option was to step up from 9 hours a week to 35 hours a week of substance abuse treatment (PHP). When we asked about switching her to the mental health track -- which is what we thought she had originally been assigned to -- we were told it wasn't possible. The director of the mental health program himself sat in on one meeting, dismissed our concerns, and gave us the line: "The only disease that tells you that you don't have a disease is alcoholism." But it wasn't only my partner questioning the placement -- it was me, the person who spends the most time with her. Still, there was no flexibility. After days of pushing, the director of the substance abuse program finally admitted their mental health program was "very new" and only taking extreme cases (like schizophrenia). That was never explained to us during intake or the first three weeks. Instead, we were told she must either attend PHP substance abuse full time or leave. She left, and Blanchard still billed us for 12 weeks even though she only attended three. The aftermath was devastating. She spiraled, drinking heavily every day. We had to start over from scratch -- found her a psychiatrist who immediately ordered GeneSight testing (which showed her antidepressant was a poor fit), and connected her with two therapists (IFS and EMDR). With that proper support, she is now thriving: biking 10-20 miles daily, working again, and feeling better than she ever has. I wasn't going to write this review, but after emailing the directors directly and receiving no response, I feel it's important for others to know: if you are looking for real mental health care, Blanchard is not the place. Their substance abuse program may work well for many, but their so-called "mental health program" was not at all what was advertised -- and in our case, it nearly cost my partner her life.
