We were referred by a friend to AOPS for middle school accelerated math. Before last school year…read moreended, we took our daughter to AOPS for assessment. As we expected, AOPS was more advanced, and the math director recommended us 3 options to catch up before middle school started. One of the options was to enroll our daughter at their summer camp where she could be evaluated by their teacher to get an accurate assessment. So we enrolled our daughter for the summer camp for which we were told was the best option. I emailed the director to confirm our plan and enrollment for the camp. We finished the camp; I even talked to the summer camp teacher about the assessment and asked her about our daughter's progress. Things seem ok . After the camp was completed, I reached out to the math director right away about the summer camp assessment. He then told me that the school had changed policy and summer camp could no longer be served as an assessment. This change happened in less than 4 weeks from the time the director and I had email communications and discussions over the phone. We were told to schedule for another assessment. Our daughter didn't like AOPS so much that we decided not to proceed. End of story .

My son was struggling with his school work in 8th grade: he was disorganized and confused, and had such a backload of assignments he didn't know where (or how) to start. I tried for months to get him on track myself, helping him with his homework, preparing for quizzes and tests. Nothing seemed to work. In a moment of desperation I asked around for recommendations and a number of neighbors suggested Lumen Learning Center. I talked to Louise and she put my mind at ease. She worked with both my son and his school, and came up with a plan of action. With infinite patience she (and Melissa and Gabe) guided and taught him, and slowly things began to turn around. After months of hard work my son finally graduated from Middle School, thanks to Lumen Learning Center. Louise took a boy who was unmotivated and full of self-doubt, and prepared him for academic life in High School. I cannot recommend their services enough.

She made an assessment of my daughter and based on her personality, matched her with Natalie. Natalie is one of the most outgoing people you will ever meet! She always puts in extra time for us and is extremely flexible with scheduling. In all, I am so glad I found this place. All of the tutors are friendly and they treat you like family! We tried a couple of other places before coming here and each one felt like a business. This place feels like home! They have good Wi-Fi via Xfinity and I can get work done while I wait. I highly recommend Lumen for their expertise and care.

As I prepare to start studying physics at Caltech this fall, I'm incredibly grateful for everything I learned here. What sets RSM apart is that it complements the math taught in school. Instead of solely focusing on formulas and procedures, it teaches students how to think logically, recognize patterns, and approach unfamiliar problems with confidence. Those problem solving skills have been invaluable not only in math, but in various other fields including physics and computer science. The teachers were exceptional and a primary reason why my experience at RSM was so fulfilling. I always felt supported by my teachers, especially Ms. Helena. Whenever I had questions, she was always happy to stay after class or stayed with me during breaks to explain concepts until I truly understood them. Looking back, I'm thankful not only for the knowledge I gained but also for the confidence, curiosity, and analytical mindset that RSM helped me cultivate over the past ten years.

This is - hands down- the best day care you can find for your little one. The care and special attention that all the teachers provide to the children is outstanding. All the kids are always super happy, very social and extremely respectful. A great place overall. The level of education exceeded my expectations: Sebastian knew all the colors, letters and shapes by 2 years! And in two languages: English and Spanish! Every week he comes home with a new song and lots of arts and crafts projects. He's always so happy to go to "school" in the morning. Did I mention food? Yes - Miss Betty prepares fresh food for all the kids every day.Everything is organic and super healthy. It includes breakfast, snacks, milks, lunch - you name it. My son eats way better at Betty's than anywhere else. The backyard is full of toys. This past year, Miss Betty invested in a brand new playground that kids absolutely adore. There are bikes, cars, sand toys - all kinds of great ways to have the kids spend a lot of time outside. Miss Betty is like a family to my son. He always thinks of her, and tells us how much he loves her. The bond between Miss Betty and the kids is very unique and extremely special.

From day one, Betty (the owner), her family, and her staff made us feel like part of theirs--warm, caring, and truly committed to every child's well-being. On our initial tour, I was struck by how clean, organized, and thoughtfully designed the space was--from the welcoming home to the engaging, play-rich backyard. Betty clearly explained the detailed protocols she's developed for smooth daily operations, and went above and beyond by teaching us how to vet daycares using California's licensing database (ccld.dss.ca.gov/carefacilitysearch)--a level of transparency that really stood out. Betty communicates with clarity and foresight. Her service contract is thorough, and key dates like holidays and closures are shared nearly a year in advance, which we've found incredibly helpful. Daily photo updates via a secure app give us peace of mind without compromising privacy. The daycare maintains a strong daily structure, yet remains flexible and responsive to individual needs or special situations. Communication is consistently open and respectful. Any changes or unexpected issues are shared transparently, and monthly menus are provided in advance--making it easy to stay involved in our daughter's experience. Most importantly, children's safety and health are clearly the top priority here, and it shows in every detail of how the daycare is run. This isn't just childcare--it's a nurturing, dependable place where our daughter has thrived. We're deeply grateful for the care, thoughtfulness, and heart they bring every single day.

Environment - The school itself is built like a prison with no outdoor space whatsoever. My kid also reported a lot of bullying that occurs on a daily basis. Overall, the building is bad, and the environment inside isn't much better either. 2. Faculty - The school faculty could care less about you or your student. As long as they get their money, they don't care. The whole system is entirely money based and extremely greedy. 3. Stress - According to my child, BASIS makes it seem like good scores are the only way you'll be successful in life. And if you can't achieve that you'll be shamed for it.
