Unfortunately my husbands mental and physical decline caused many problems and with that many questions and uncertainties in my mind. At times I was very angry, with things not necessarily related to David, yet unable to communicate with my husband, I lashed out at David with angry emails and messages, about which he legally couldn't discuss with me. David never sunk to my level. He always maintained a professional, even concerned demeanor, offering to come and speak to my husband and I together. Life is hard and can be confusing and tricky, especially when you don't understand the actions and behavior of someone you love. David is a good man. I'm sure this review will never make up for the things I have said and done. David has suffered the brunt of my anger and frustration with my husbands behavior, and never said "if you're not happy with me, go find someone else." If I were in his shoes, I would have. David not only handled our money, but also handled a very angry, mean, relentless woman who took a lot of her frustrations out on him, and he did it with calm, professional kindness. D'Angelo bought the business from her. I was super satisfied with Nick Sr. and Jr. and enjoyed at least 5yrs. Then Blackline Partnes bought it late 2015 and Richard Lee took over. This happend right at tax time so it was hard to judge what the experience was going to be like. Broken promises. Calls not returned. Voice messages just flat out ignored. I've referred quite a few people and businesses here and it's the same with at least 2 others I know and have talked to. And as Kate stated in her review, it's like they don't care. Or maybe they're just completely under water and bit off more than they can chew. It's sad because I'm out of here for the 2016 tax year. I don't expect them to fight to keep my business but I expect "the basics" of customer service at the very least and it's just not even close. And I'm not willing to endure another tax season when there are far too many other options to chose from.

My take on this group is that they buy out smaller practices and come in and run it like a low budget chop shop so they can make as much money as possible. There's nothing wrong with trying to make money but it seems like their business model is focused on bringing in money as they buy up these smaller practices, and run them by cutting costs and man power. Lower wages I bet, all that jazz. Meaning you run a skeleton crew and the rest just goes by the wayside. I'm not joking here. The staff, I can hear them shrugging their shoulders over the phone when I ever-so-kindly try to voice my complaints and they are unable to give me answers as to why our tax guy hasn't called us back in 3 weeks and has neglected the multiple phone appointments they scheduled in his calendar. Shoot, I felt bad for them when I called. Of course, you are trying to be nice on the phone b/c you just want them to process your tax return so you can be done with them. AND how about this, why did they mail my taxes which were not even complete to my old home address. Are you kidding?? That is extremely sensitive information. I'm mind blown over this. Our personal information, our livelihood has been mailed to the wrong people. I'm furious! We were blowing them up daily trying to get our/their 1 tax guy on the phone to just finish up the last little bit of taxes so we could file. Finally, finally on April 15 (we had until 18th this year) they sent us over our vouchers to pay. I am not kidding you, the moment we sent D'angelo (Blackline) our payment, literally instantaneously, they charged our card. It was comical. All this run around and unreturned phone calls and bam they can process a payment in seconds. I say this... If you are looking for service don't go here. If you're looking for attentiveness don't go here. If you're looking for a secure transmission of you personal information don't go here. Just don't. There are plenty of tax people in the sea. Shoot H&R would have been better for us. How can I give you 0 zero stars? You will read this and not do anything about it because you are running a business not a service based company. The old D'angelos had lasting, loyal relationships. These folks... chumps who are good number crunchers to run a business but that's not sustainable. Without any customer or employee focus you will fail. I'm going to look you up Blackline Partners. I'm interested to see how anyone has reviewed you. Ok let me quick add an edit. They have about 37 locations and they all keep the sweet ma and pa local names that you knew and loved. Hope they all aren't run as poorly as D'angelo is. Yikes!
