I used to have a good workout at Everton Park Sports Centre week in week out spending each visit in the swimming pool which is 25 metres in length, hosting eight lanes with spectator seating. That was a couple of years ago and since then, it has been under repair several times meaning that my weekly routine had to be altered. In fact, it is currently undergoing the next stage of repair which means the pool is closed until further notice. This is disappointing for regular swimmers and the fact that their steam sauna is no longer available for some reason, adds to the disappointment.
Other than that, they have all the usual facilities a good sports centre would offer including a gym (including classes), squash court and sports hall, suitable for badminton and other team sports with spectator seating. There are also a number of outdoor synthetic sports pitches. Plus, vehicle parking is free.
Overall, the sports centre is neither excellent nor poor. Some features I feel could do with a refurbishment such as the pool changing rooms and floor and lighting for the sports hall. read more
