So I made an appt with…read moreArizona Route 66 RV Repair to diagnose at 7100 ft elev. 10 miles west of Flagstaff in town called Bellemont. I was impressed one person reviewed they took their RV to 3 other repair places, who could not resolve the issue, but Jeff at Route 66 solved it. He is both Norcold and Dometic Factory Certified Technician. Jeff blew off the altitude reason. He said no reason why it shouldn't work at 7000 - 8000 ft elev. He said if I lived full time in my RV at 10,000 feet, maybe then I would have to do the modifications. He felt my problem was my flame sensor was dirty. I told him I only do dispersed camping on dusty roads. He said "dirty has nothing to do with road dust. Dirty is when the sensor gets corroded (turns green color) from years of having the gas flame on it". But my flame sensor was really hard to remove, almost inaccessible. Took him 15 min to find the right tool in his extensive drill bit case to get one that could remove the sensor that was in real awkward spot, so I don't think I could do it myself. He cleaned the flame sensor with a piece of sandpaper. Looks like an "L" shaped allen wrench. I learned that a corroded flame sensor cannot sense the flame, so it shuts off the propane thinking there is no flame . No propane, no flame, so no cold fridge. There was no answer why the "corroded" is only when I was at high altitudes, but four days ago on June 8, 2020, when I drove to their 7100 ft store elev from 1200 elev, the flame stayed on all night at 7100 feet even BEFORE Jeff cleaned the sensor. But May 14, 2020, I camped at 7500 feet, the flame refused to stay on the whole 4 days at camp, and my food all got spoiled. Jeff spent maybe 30 min on my fridge, including 15 looking for the right bit to remove the propane sensor. Cost me their minimum charge of 1 hour $145. Jeff spent another 30 min educating me about fridges, and also told me not to let my battery get too low or I will have problems with the fridge. Here I thought the battery was only needed for the ignitor when on propane. Jeff said No, the whole fridge needs power for all it's functions to work. If I was gonna be dispersed camping for many days, I should consider solar panels. Jeff said I should have my fridge serviced and cleaned this way every 2 years. He said the fact that my fridge is still running at 22 years old, is pretty darn good. (Norcold discontinued my fridge model N430 in 1999, 1 year after it was purchased by previous owner.) Now I camped 4 days at over 7000 ft elevation and the flame is strong, the green flame light stays steadily on and the ignitor has never ticked after Jeff cleaned it. Horay, finally I have ice and cold drinks! But I won't be going on another camping trip "to use my fridge" till I find another 5 speed tranny, cos when I was driving home, my stick could not find the gears, causing cars to pile up behind me, honk and honk, or go around me, cos I was stopped or coasting trying to find the gear. Bad synchronizers. If not one thing, it's another, with these 40 year old rigs. Here are photos of my Toyota 1982 Sunrader, and the 2 elk at my Flagstaff campout, at Marshall Lake, where I enjoyed ICE and cold drinks, thanks to Jeff!

After determining the issue was our blower motor, they ordered a new one and had it available the next day. Talking to the service team, I determined the replacement should be done by a professional and was beyond my skill set... I learned they will drive to you for key repairs! The cost is set up at the hourly labor rate and begins as they leave the shop towards your RV. Not having to tear down, drive, wait, repair, drive and reset up camp... it was an easy decision to have them come to me! I was impressed when the mechanic showed up to do the work... it was Jason, the Service Manager at the Bellemont AZ Service Center! He explained they were short handed but he had committed to our repair and wanted to honor that promise. I love when professionals act professional! The service center called as he left to start the clock and Jason was here promptly and had us running in no time. The motor replacement caused him to have to remove the furnace to get to the motor (reinforcing my decision to hire them!). After testing the motor, Jason found a connector that could cause issues later and let me know he'll order a replacement for me. Great job! Time estimate was spot on and the stress of me doing the work was eliminated! I'd recommend this parts department and service center again without question!

YouTube taught us more than the dealership (fuse box, on board generator, compute screen, grey water, etc.). A missing piece of exterior molding was not even addressed. Terribly disappointed, would not recommend.

Lots of storage as advertised. bathroom toilet and shower very adequate Bed kits and kitchen kit essential if you can't carry anything. Comforter was warm enough and pillow was soft. 3 Towels supplied and washcloth. Dish towel was marginal so bring lots of paper towels. we used mostly paper goods and plastic ware so we did not take out the whole kitchen kid but did use pots and pans and utensils for cooking. Must provide your own dish soap and sponges as well as plastic bags and trash bags. You may need storage containers or plastic covers or aluminum foil. cooked hot dogs in frying pan. Also bring softsoap and body wash and shampoo. used propane for heating water, cooking, heater briefly in RV and partly refrigerator and still only used $5 worth. Mileage estimate was okay but we went over by a hundred miles costing an extra $35. Very easy to drive and backup similar to large van. My 33 year old daughter loved driving it and did most of the driving. Sleeping arrangements were very comfortable and you could stretch out over the cab and in the back. One adult daughter slept where the table is and she could not stretch out but it was adequate. toilet works fine and sewage outlet and Water Hookup worked fine. Holds a lot of gallons of gas so there's a long range. Overall very positive experience.

GAS LEAK, WATER LEAK, AND TIRE ISSUES!!!…read more Our trip started with barely being able to find the location to pick up the RV as they were tucked away at a body shop/junk yard with no sign. Next, we heard a loud screeching noise coming from a tire while driving on the freeway and found the metal bars reinforcing the mud flap dislodged and were piercing the tire. How does a bar just unbolt itself while on a smooth freeway?? We bent the bar back as much as we could but only got the sharp edge 2 inches away from the tire. While we were asleep boondocking in a forest that night, an alarm went off and the whole RV filled with a nauseating propane smell. Customer service instructed us to immediately turn the propane knob to the LEFT to turn it off and open windows/doors. We waited 20 minutes for her to consult with her coworkers and tell us the knob should actually turn to the RIGHT. We were instructed to call the police, whom instructed us to call 911, whom sent the fire department to us. They concluded it was a gas leak and to not use any amenities other than the engine to drive it back the next day. We felt so unsafe in the RV and customer service's advice so took a taxi to the nearest hotel. Reluctantly, we drove the RV back the next day but not before realizing A WATER LEAK under the RV. It looks like we just got pretty unlucky with the RV provided to us, but I still would NOT recommend this experience to ANYONE

As an active influencer in the RV community, I have referred a steady stream of customers to your dealerships. That ends today with Vice President of Sales, Brody Thompson's response. Beginning in January 2026 in Prescott Valley, AZ, we were excited to purchase a smaller RV, an addition to our Brinkley we purchased last year. We noticed a concern after being called to the dealership multiple times to complete or sign missing paperwork or make corrections. While waiting in the sales room, the finance manager, Michael, decided to have a conference call on speaker for everyone to hear. Unfortunately, mistakes were made and discussed on this call. Now, it required altering our original deal, which required an adjustment to the initial agreement. Michael requested an additional 6K due to this error, but we refused, staying firm with our 10K down payment. This is where it gets good. Well, a roadside service contract was added between the various revisions of the contract. Surprisingly, no verbal discussion occurred, as I would have easily refused. I've been paying for my own RV roadside service for years. Are they trying to recoup some of the additional $ 6K requested? Wait, it gets even better! Let's review my warranty contract. Oh wait, we can't. We were only provided the cover page of the warranty contract. The remaining pages, which included the cancellation policy, was not included. Luckily when we purchased our Brinkley last year, our warranty contract included all pages, which outlined the cancellation terms. This situation reflects poor process at best. At worst, it points to deception. Why cancel? They created an additional loan for the warranty, which doubled the original agreement and monthly payment. Two loans for one RV!?! The dealership now involved Blue Compass leadership, Vice President of Sales Brody Thompson. Now, Mr. Thompson is questioning our integrity instead of addressing the facts, stating, "This is the reason so many dealerships act as if they don't care about the customer, because it's clear so many customers care not to keep their word." Then closes his email with; "Two sides to a story". This response speaks for itself. He's not interested in customer service or learning the facts of this transaction; his only focus is sales. I will not accept an attack on my integrity when the issues in this transaction were outside my control, not communicated or created by others. The true reason why dealerships get a bad reputation are examples pointed out in this review. A dealership that conceals charges or promotes a false narrative in conflict with a signed legal contract raises serious ethical concerns. These actions reflect deceptive business practices and undermine the integrity of the transaction. That approach damages trust, violates consumer protections, and warrants formal review and exposure. Bottom Line: unauthorized add-ons, incomplete/missing documents, conflicting loans, & delayed refund. As an RV influencer, I will continue to share the facts of this story for years to come, including in our video review of the RV. Unbeknownst to me Glen was the financial manager yet was stepping in to help us until Fred Hoadley, one of the RV consultants was available. When I first met Glenn, I anticipated your "everyday" salesperson, saying what you want to hear, trying to convince you that they have your best interest in mind and that they are your new best friend. I was determined to show him that I wasn't going to fall for it nor be his friend - ha! Yet, Glen was NOTHING like what I was expecting or was used to yet EVERYTHING that you would hope for and want in a salesperson/finance manager. Kind, honest, sincere, trustworthy, insightful, easy to talk with and no B.S. kind of guy which is exactly what this 60-year-old couple needed and longed for. Glen went above and beyond our expectations and took the time to help us understand and work through a financial situation that we were in and that needed to be resolved before purchasing our new RV. Glen showed us what we needed to do and how to do it. He didn't gain a cent by helping us, yet what he did gain was our loyalty, and trust. Fred was another great player in this "dream team duo". Fred, like Glen, was easy to talk to, down-to-earth, sincere and honest. Glen and Fred's loyalty has remained sincere and true as with their friendship even after purchasing our RV which is a rare and refreshing find. And it's because of this that we highly recommend them both. They proved to my husband and I that there's still are a few good humans in this line of work that have your back. Thank you, Glen and Fred for being our "dream team duo" and becoming our new best friends Chris and Deena

I spoke with Larry on March 16 and dropped the car off March 17. Right away, Larry was rude--chastising me for not bringing it in sooner, despite us just getting the recall notice. He also made inaccurate claims about our brakes just by looking at the car, clearly assuming I didn't know better. My husband and father are mechanics, and I have extensive experience working on cars myself. We only came in because recalls are fully covered. We were told the repair would take about a week to a week and a half, but they had our car for 20 days (March 17-April 6). No one suggested ordering parts ahead of time to reduce downtime. Communication was extremely poor--I had to call multiple times for updates, and Larry often said he'd call back but never did. After 16 days, they finally called (the only time they initiated contact) claiming the engine cover was cracked and would cost $400. The photo showed no oxidation or debris, indicating it likely cracked during service. The manager confirmed bolts in that area were removed and torqued. I pushed back, stating I wouldn't pay for damage likely caused by their mechanic, and said I'd escalate to Ford Corporate. They eventually covered it. The manager also acknowledged they usually order specialty tools before taking vehicles, which clearly didn't happen here. I raised concerns about the delay and lack of communication--he apologized and said he'd address it with Larry. They offered a rental, but I would've had to drive to Prescott and put down a $200 credit card deposit. I don't use credit cards, and while another location suggested using their business card, this dealership refused. We ended up sharing one car for the entire time. We were told at one point the car would be ready the next day, but delays continued (first a broken bolt, then the engine cover). We finally got the car back April 6--20 days later. Overall, the biggest issues were poor communication, lack of accountability, and Larry's rude behavior. We were considering buying a Ford truck (we pay cash and just bought a ranch), but after this experience, we will never buy a Ford again--mainly because this is the only dealership within 50+ miles and we refuse to deal with them. I would not recommend this dealership--or any Galpin Ford location. I documented all conversations from March 16-April 6 and will be advising others to avoid them.
