In 2024, I wanted a fixed annuity for 3 to 5 years with the then interest rate of 5.5%. Gainbridge and other on-line annuities offered such products. Tony Newman told me that he would put my $ in such an annuity. He did not. My interest rate was only fixed for 1 year out of 5 years. Mr. Newman and Lifeguard financial did not listen to my investment desires in 2024. Mr. Newman tried to "make it up to me" by sending me a free T-shirt and some pens. I was told that Mr. Newman also sent me a fruit basket after I told him I would be out of town for several weeks. The fruit basket rotted on my front porch, was half eaten by animals, and I came home to a large mess that I had to clean up. Once again, Mr, Newman did not listen to me. At my 1 year renewal in July 2025, Lifeguard financial sent me the renewal documents to sign with 70% of my investment in a 1 year S&P500 index. At this time, the S&P 500 was at an all time high. Why would anyone want to lock into a S&P500 index at an all time high? This was also not the investment that I wanted. For the 3rd time, Mr. Newman and Lifeguard financial did not listen to my investment desires. I was invited to a free financial seminar. When I called to register, I was told that I could invite up to 3 other people. I invited my parents and my boyfriend. I was told then, and when they called to remind me of the event, that if anyone in my party couldnt attend, I should cancel as they were counting on us all being there. At the last minute, my BF couldnt go. So I asked my son to take his spot so that they wouldnt have an empty seat. He is young, but he is the sales manager at a company and interested in investing, and I thought I was doing the courteous thing. I was actually impressed by the one hour talk. I filled in the info sheet with my name and contact info and turned it in. I did not indicate any concerns I have, because I dont have any! I believe that my money has been invested well and I dont have any concerns. What I do need, is a new broker. My broker just left the company where my accounts are and I am in the market for a new financial adviser. I dont mind moving my money to a new company for the right adviser and I am not so sure I like the new person they randomly assigned me to. I also did not mark off a day and time that I wanted to meet as I am pretty flexible and have moderate open availability. My Mom told me at dinner and my son told me on the way home that they thought I should make an appointment. I figured LIfeguard would call me and I would set an appointment. Instead, I got an angry voicemail telling me that I had basically stolen the meal and telling me how rude I was and asked not to return. Wow! After that you can bet I will not return!!! I would never invest my money with someone who treated me that way! I went to a FREE, NO OBLIGATION seminar and was actually interested in potentially investing with this company. I am not sure what their definition of free or no obligation are, but I dont think they are the same as mine. And not even calling to ask if I would like to set an appointment, but instead accusing me of dishonesty? HORRIBLE COMPANY. I will NEVER use this company and I will be sure to talk about my experience. They almost had a customer, but not anymore. read more
