Another example of the same message over the years despite several complaints. BROKEN! - A television monitor at Octane Fitness shows a news segment with a woman speaking and on-screen text about rebooting a device.

"Broken TVs, Zero Accountability - See the Proof for Yourself" If you're thinking about joining this Lifetime Fitness location, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This place charges premium membership fees but completely fails to deliver even basic maintenance -- and they clearly don't care. See the attached photos: These are just two of the many bike machines stuck in the same frozen screen for over two years. Messages like "Cleaning things up... prepare for a reboot in 1 second" have been on display nonstop. Spoiler alert: they never reboot. They never work. And they never get fixed. I've contacted management multiple times over this span -- through emails, in person, and through staff. Crickets. No replies, no updates, no accountability. Just complete silence. It's obvious what's going on: management is happily pocketing members' money while refusing to invest in even the most basic equipment upkeep. For a company that markets itself as a "luxury" fitness club, this is nothing short of disgraceful. At this point, the broken TVs are more consistent than the gym's customer service. If you want working equipment, transparency, or a management team that actually responds to concerns -- look somewhere else. This place is running on autopilot, and no one seems to be at the wheel.

Repost from Google for people that use yelp instead:…read more Here is a long review since I feel there is a lot of things to say. Started off is that for ME this is a five star experience from the first day that I stepped foot in this gym. I am someone who treats the gym like a second home; lift for a couple hours, cardio after, and stretching and recovery. I was tired of all the overcrowded commercial gyms and this place really fit the bill. This gym, in my opinion, is not for everyone though. The $199 price tag per month is over triple the amount of over any other commercial gym in the area, so unless you have more disposable income or really take the gym fairly seriously, then I would think twice. With that said, the price, in my opinion, is well worth it. The staff have all been super nice and Katie was there to hold my hand each step of the way, figuratively, showing everything from the app and amenities, to how to validate the parking. Before I even signed up she made me and my Fiancé feel like VIP guests. Equipment wise there are so many hi-low cables, LAT pulldowns / rows, and leg machines than any other gym 10 times the size would just fill with 100 treadmills rather than equipment people actually use. Machines are PREMIUM and have the best resistant curves and arm paths that I have ever felt. Don't like leg day? I guarantee you'll look forward to them here! Five different squat machine variations, every isolation machine you can think of, they probably have it, and if you don't like machines, well they have five, I think, deadlift platforms that double as squat racks, then and additional two power racks on top of that. I don't think I have ever needed to wait for a machine or piece of equipment besides their gym80 lateral raise machine (oh this machine makes the membership worth it itself) The trainers all seem knowledgeable and are all super friendly if you have a question for them in passing, and I also have seen Tess for their in house nutrition, who was great in giving me the information I needed to reach my goals. Between the gym, PTs, nutrition the only way I can fail is my own willpower to stay consistent. Cardio wise I have never really seen the treadmills completely full, but there aren't too many and there are multiple different brands of treadmills that will spam and minimize your workout until you log in and create some account with them, which is actually super annoying (looking at you technogym!) and I have accidently hit the stop button more times than I can count, which might just be a skill issue, but I haven't had that problem anywhere else so I am nitpicking there. The few times I have used the sauna and steam room it was clean and the people using it were all respectful of space and being sure to cover themselves appropriately. Making it much more comfortable while I am about to pass out while chugging water in the sauna. I have not used the cold plunge nor think I would ever want to so no comment on that. So yeah.... that's it I think. TL;DR: Gym is expensive but if you take the gym and health seriously then it is well worth the price tag, or if you just are in that higher tax bracket lol. So many high quality machines it'll bring a tear to your eye when you first use them. People I have run into are very nice and respectful.

I've been a member at VIDA Fitness for about a year now, and my mom is actually a founding member,…read moreso I've seen the gym from both a long-term and more recent perspective. When I first joined, the experience felt aligned with the "luxury" brand they promote. The classes are still a highlight because they're engaging, well-run, and one of the main reasons I've stayed. I also genuinely like the bar area, and most of the food I've had has been solid. That said, the biggest issue for me, and it's a major one... is cleanliness. It's honestly disturbing to see the same stains on the gym floors day after day. I understand the flooring is a neutral color, but that's not an excuse for it to look visibly dirty all the time. The areas near the windows and equipment are especially bad. At $200/month, I expect a consistently clean facility, and that standard is not being met. The bathrooms are no better. The floors often look stained and unclean, and there are almost never toilet seat covers available in the women's restroom. It feels like basic upkeep is being missed regularly. The cold plunge has also been an issue!! I've gone to use it before and noticed a visible film, which made it completely unusable. That shouldn't happen in a facility marketed as high-end. On top of that, the staff isn't particularly welcoming or attentive, which adds to the overall disconnect between the brand and the actual experience. To be fair, not all of this falls solely on the gym.. many members don't wipe down equipment after using it. But that's exactly why there needs to be stronger oversight and more consistent cleaning protocols in place. During the summer, the rooftop pool gets extremely crowded. The pool itself is nice, but it's clear they need more staffing during peak months. Service becomes very slow, which takes away from what could otherwise be a great amenity. As someone who works in facilities and understands operations, this feels like a management issue. There needs to be more attention to daily maintenance, cleaning standards, and overall quality control. Right now, it simply does not reflect the luxury experience being advertised. I'm willing to give it a little more time to improve, but based on my experience so far, I would rate it a 2.5 out of 5

I pay way too much monthly to come into a one life gym that still has this style of equipment. Maybe because my home gym is for totten but this is ridiculous. This equipment is all older than this gym itself. The gym smells like a sewage drain. I legitimately had to work out with a shirt over my nose and ended my workout early because I couldn't stand it anymore. The layout of the gym is always chaotic as hell. Yes there's a lot of machines, they are all old maybe 10% of what's in here is "new". Studio has no fans, neither does group studio. That makes no sense to me. First time at this location, I unfortunately moved to this area, but I won't be coming back, I'd rather make the 25 minute drive to the Manassas location where is actually clean, and new equipment Editing to add that there is in fact not a single fan in this gym, even the treadmills, don't have a built in fan. That being said, let me tell you I've never learned how to work out as well as I have learned at this gym. I have never been stronger or felt more sculpted, even on my very bad weeks personally. And I think that has so much more to do with their top level trainers. This review is mostly about their trainers. I work with their female trainer Kirsten who really stop at nothing to make sure that you get your desired results. We have talked about everything from food to sleep to nutrition, hydration. Personally, i've never had a personal trainer before but I paid an insane amount of money for a trainer for my mother at lifetime, and let me tell you it's night and day difference. And at a fraction of the cost. The trainers at this gym collaborate together and share ideas to try to make sure every person is getting a solid pump. They they are engaged in your process, your form, your weights lifted. I'm so glad I found this gym when i moved. Clean, organized, open 24 hours. If I had one quam, I would just say you still have to use a card to get in and I don't always have that. Most places just use your phone now I recommend getting the personal training if you really want to start seeing results quickly and get a jump start. It sounds expensive at first, but i've broken down the cost and it's totally worth it and especially compared to other gyms, tbh they're double the value for a much lesser price. Especially with Kirsten or ryan. This is what a small business should act like. Gem 10/10

To preface, I like most things about this gym as a regular member who knows what they want to do…read morehere. The equipment is decent, members are friendly. No billing issues thus far. They could add some machines but if you don't go at 5pm you'll probably be fine. But the purpose of this review is to warn others of the awful personal "training" practices here. TL;DR there is no oversight on trainers and they do whatever they want with clients seemingly not to the clients' benefit, imo they are lying and stealing money from those who don't know any better. The ANNOYING: To say the group fitness classes are a nuisance is an under-statement. There are TWO "special" rooms that non-premium members are not allowed to use because they are reserved for classes. Sure who cares I'm not using that space anyways. But frequently the classes are held outside of these rooms and take over as much space as possible. Every Sunday morning, the turf is nearly inaccessible because a group class is being held. The turf is the only open place for members to warm up, sled push, use some of the non-machines, etc. Unless the group class should be held there. Then you have to hug the wall and watch a circus. And good luck getting any equipment because they're using all of it. The exercises they do would be easily adjustable to fit in one or both of the studios but either out of laziness or entitlement on the instructor's part, they are not. The saddest part is that the group could probably do their own thing for free outside in a park, or at least get the same benefits because I'm betting there's a big "fun" component rather than a productive one. If I was attending these classes and still couldn't do a full push-up after a year of trying, I'd be pretty upset but they don't seem to be bothered. Everyone seems to be putting in some effort but are not being set up for success which really bothers me as a former coach. If someone is struggling with form, it's the coaches job to make an adjustment or regress it to a point they can do it, not have them flop on the ground week after week expecting that maybe someday they'll be strong enough. They do not understand progression in the slightest, and all do the same thing regardless of ability to actually perform a movement. If you are a regular non-class attending member the class instructors and goers will act like they are better than you or have some protected class status, it's very odd and entitled. The PREDATORY: You get a trainer to train you and make progress toward your goals. And if they're really good, teach you enough to be successful on your own- and those things are where the "trainers" here fail. As someone with 5 years of personal training and athletic coaching experience, you are being scammed out of your money if you sign up for training in any capacity here. The "trainers" (with the exception of Whilem he's chill) do not know what they are doing, no matter how hard they will make it seem like they do. If you don't understand exercise and hire a trainer for help, that would make sense. But it is incredibly easy to seem like an expert to someone with no knowledge, which is what I believe the trainers here do. One "trainer" in-particular hides behind gimmicky exercises and big words to trick his unaware clients and disguise the fact that he doesn't have a clue how to actually train someone to make progress in the gym. I've seen people over-complicate exercise but this guy is a whole new level. He frequently invents worse versions of exercises that already exist to an absurd degree. I feel the worst for the paying clients here because it's not their fault and they don't know any better. I've heard him give exercise cues that are either completely incorrect or downright dangerous. The clients look the same as they did a year ago and still lift the same weights. Maybe they're not doing what they should be outside the gym or maybe they just aren't doing anything productive in the gym, both are the responsibility of the person they are paying to help them be successful. I'm there at the same times consistently and have seen the same stuff every week, frequently changing exercises, under-loading, and over-explaining everything to their clients, while they spend tens of minutes of their hour-long session, not working out. I have never seen a client or class attendee do a full session without poor form on something, and the "coaches" do not know how to adjust an exercise to the point where their clients can actually do it. Some of the worst form I've ever seen at this gym has been in a class or with a "trainer" and a correction is never attempted. It's shameful on them and sad to see so many people throw their money down the toilet when they think they're doing something to help themselves. If you know what you're doing, you'll be fine here. But if you don't, take your time and money elsewhere because you won't learn anything from the charlatans here.

Cool studio and location…read more Initially, I did not like the layout of the studio. The fact that parking needs to be validated each time (I'm assuming) wastes unnecessary time, especially when you're already running late. The Reston location grows on you after a few times. I know someone for whom this is their home studio. Parking -- The first time I came here; no one informed me where to park so I went to Metro garage parking and paid about 10$. Waste of money. After class, I was then informed I can use either the PenFed outdoor parking or Aperture parking garage, the latter of which needs to be validated. I have been using PenFed for a while, it's free parking thankfully. Now they say don't use PenFed, only use the covered parking garage, and have it validated at the front desk. It's an inconvenience, sure, and it wastes time but the upside is that it is free parking at least. Equipment -- The main plus points for me are the more modern and up to date equipment in the studio. For example, treadmills have bigger buttons and screen, and rowers feel a bit more reactive. However, a minus is that some quick buttons are missing -- for example, I like to go AO at speed of 11, but for buttons there is only 10 and next is 12. There is no 11. I might need to change my speed, but this is inconvenient and overall I preferred it when the quick action buttons were on the right, IIRC I could easily hit 11 that way to get to my AO speed. But, I'll give it a pass as overall it is slightly better than other studios. Studio and Experience -- I like the layout of the studio though it takes a while, and the front desk people are largely pleasant and easy enough to get along with. However, I struggle with forming social connections with the other members, and usually it's incredibly hard for me to even get one word out. I really would like to make at least one acquaintance so I will redouble my efforts, but I find it very challenging and I'm not sure why OTF promotes this kind of mentality in its members, as it's rather off-putting. All in all, I struggle to get along with other members, but the studio is good, has solid enough equipment apart from few minor gripes, and the coaches and front desk are friendly enough. I wouldn't mind revisiting this studio again.

It's clean, has towel service, has every piece of equipment I could ask for, but, most importantly, every person who works there is fantastic, starting with the manager. The front desk folks make a point of remembering you and greeting you by name. It's a big touch, and makes one feel welcome. I use, on occasion, the squash courts, the pool, spin class, the indoor track and, of course, the gym. All are kept immaculate, court reservations are on an app and are easy to get, and there's never a problem with getting (or sharing) a lap lane. I did see a review discussing the equipment in the gym and the culture. While from time to time a piece of equipment breaks, rarely is it down for any length of time. I do agree that some folks don't understand (actually they don't care) about etiquette (not restacking weights, sitting on equipment and using the phone, etc), and while I have not seen trainers policing them, I have noticed a ton of signage going up with gym rules and requests to abide by them. Some people are going to be jerks, I suppose, but I'm not sure how one can solve this problem other than by educating them. I could not recommend this place more
