My experience with Dan Gobetz could not have been worse!…read more At the time of sale, he never shared with me the evidence that the sellers had met the contingencies and it was not until after the paperwork was signed at the close that the sellers themselves asked me "do you want this documentation" - which in fact were not sufficient! After some discussion there was an agreement made about what they still needed to do - which Gobetz didn't document, thus ensued many weeks of haggling. This cost me time, money and aggravation. But it was only when I sold the property a couple of years later that I learned how poorly i was served. I'm not a lawyer, but several people who are and were familiar with the situation described it as "amazing" and used words like "incompetent" and "malpractice". Basically, it turns out he let me buy a house without informing me that it did not have a certificate of occupancy and with 2 open building permits! Evidently, its typical for the seller to be responsible for providing this but that standard clause in the contract of sale was omitted and Gobetz did not provide me with the information for me to decide if I was willing to take the premises without the Seller providing same. Consequently, when I sold the property the close was delayed for weeks and I had to spend thousands of dollars to close the permits and get the certificate of occupancy - stuff the former seller would have done if I'd had appropriate legal counsel. Bottom line... I will never use him again and wish you luck if you do!

But once we paid the $5K retainer and engaged him, the story changed and we were forced to pay the fines. Moreover, we paid up the fines to make the matter go away and get our peace back, but the law office contacted us several months later to pay a pending balance that we were unaware of. They threatened us of legal action if we didn't pay the balance so we were forced to pay under duress. Highly disappointed with the service and professionalism. This is the reason lawyers are disliked and mistrusted. No one should give their business to this firm and their lawyers.

I chose not to, and my reason for that was based solely on how I was treated during the consultation process. My name is Brittany Bartee. For full disclosure purposes, I did seek a consultation with this law firm regarding a prenuptial contract and did not end up signing with them. I know they will claim that this automatically makes my review "not credible." I disagree completely. The manner in which a potential client is treated during a consultation speaks volumes about how/if they value potential clients. The first red flag was how unapologetically unprofessional he was. He did not return my phone calls as promised, and during attempts to schedule a consultation, Jack would abruptly tell me he had to leave in the middle of our phone call. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because I know how busy attorneys are. So when I had my full consult with Jack Novak (2/26/2026), the attitude was clear from the very beginning. He made sure to tell me that he represents NBA players and people with extremely high net worths. He also made sure to tell me that I was "average." He also questioned my motives for wanting specific provisions in my prenup and told me that "I should just let the courts decide." For the record, the "complication" I was looking to work out was a simple marital vesting schedule. If that's the way he operates, why even bother being a prenup attorney? That's the laziest response to someone who is literally wanting to avoid an expensive future in the courts. He seems to be someone who just gives the same copy/paste prenup to anyone who is "average," wanting to do the least work possible. He quoted me $2,995 for my "complicated" prenup, and $600 for representation for my fiancé. It wasn't the price, really, that was the issue, as it seemed fairly comparable to what I had seen out there already. However, when I asked him what the difference in pricing would be if it were less "complex," he would not even broach the subject with me. Instead, he told me, rather condescendingly, that he knew I "wouldn't change my mind anyway" and that I should have "stayed off the internet." He cut me off mid-sentence multiple times throughout our conversation. When I was able to get in any questions at all, the response was vague, dismissive, and condescending. He asked me at the end of the call if I had "any more questions." I told him I had many, but apparently, he wasn't interested in answering them, so I hung up the phone. The associates I communicated with while organizing the consult were lovely and professional. I truly hope they are not spoken to as potential clients are. Also, if every negative review is automatically called a fake or vindictive one, it doesn't display authenticity, but it displays defensiveness, a lack of accountability, and a lack of desire to learn from previous mistakes and use it. The copy/paste type of response to negative reviews is exactly how I imagine he does his prenups.

Hardly ever returned calls or emails in a timely fashion. 3. When I had an emergency in my divorce regarding my children, I called his office and he took two weeks to return my call. The only reason he called me back is because the Law Guardian called for an emergency hearing. When we went to court for the hearing he wasn't prepared to represent what happened even though I supplied him with evidence which would have helped my case. 4. After firing him, he refused to send me my file unless I paid him a final bill. Once I did, the file was so small that my new attorney was shocked and mentioned that I should sue him once the case was over with. Luckily for him, I didn't.
