I go here almost every time that I am in Greenville. I have a food ministry in which I contribute food items and found that Lidl has the most economical way to do that. German supermarket chain. It is nice to shop at a place that's different than Americans store. Not a whole lot to offer compare to Walmart and Publix, but its price is pretty competitive. If you are looking for more European brand then this is the place to go. They do sell a lot of weird hardware/clothing items in the middle of the store. You can always go to Walmart across the street if you can't the things you need here. read more

Misleading $10 off $60 purchase offer. When I used the $10 off coupon offer, I paid more than when I just checked out with my Lidl QR code. The trick is the discount price would return to regular price on the items - $4.99 item with Lidl app becomes $6.99. I had to return all items to check out again without 'clip' the coupon. Visited today at 10:15am and was disappointed with the nasty attitude and rudeness of your cashier. She was taking the food and she was throwing it onto the belt. That's showing her bad attitude and she is representing your company. She obviously didn't want to be there. A manager came up and was helping another customer. If it wasn't gonna take so long I would've said something to the manager because she should not be treating customers like that. Your store normally has very nice cashiers so this is the worst one I've ever had to deal with in any store. It made me so uncomfortable that if she us there I will not be shopping in your stire. read more

I really liked this store. When I went in, I found it clean and fresh and well-lit. The produce section was delightful - everything was beautifully displayed and a great price. Even better, which I haven't found even at roadside stands, the fruits and vegetables all TASTED GOOD when I got them home! Fresh and delicious. Lidl is not trying to be Publix or Food Lion. It's full of generic products and prepackaged meats. But that's why the prices are low throughout the store. If I want amazing meats, I'm going to go to a butcher. If I want to feed my family fresh produce and whole roast chicken with rice or pasta, I'm going to come to Lidl. read more

Was first in line, but had to wait until a check out person decided to come to the register. When she did, she and supervisor were busy helping another customer who was overcharged for an item. They worked there at register for ten minutes without even acknowledging me. Finally, they got atound to me. No welcome, no apology for keeping me waiting, nothing. I was very excited about having a new grocery store option so close to my house but I wanted to give the store a few weeks to "settle" in before shopping there. Here are my thoughts after several visits. Pros: The produce. The prices are really, really good and I have been very happy with every produce item I've purchased so far. The nuts. Good selection and the best prices I've found locally. Particularly good prices on macadamia nuts-my favorite! There are a lot of "fun" items like tiramisu cake and cookie butter that I don't often find in other stores. Cons: There is not a good "flow" to the store. People don't seem to know where to walk and it gets crowded/confusing. The selection is not great. I could not do all my grocery shopping at this store. The employees I have encountered so far have not been very friendly or pleasant. When shopping with my husband our cashier did not seem to know how the register worked nor was she paying attention to us as run up our purchases (she was carrying on a conversation with another cashier). The cheese. I guess I was expecting/hoping the cheese selection would be similar to Trader Joe's but it is not. Tip: Bring your own bags or you can buy them at the register. I will continue to shop at Lidl for the produce items that I cannot get at my local Farmers Market and for my macadamia and other nuts. Hopefully the store will continue to get better and better, but as for now I am satisfied...not thrilled but satisfied. read more

I was not impressed at all with Lidl. Prices were good yes, but 95% of the Store is brands that I have never heard of. And as far as the non food merchandise like clothes and house hold items, wasn't what I expected.... The sales paper that I get in the mail makes this store look like a dept. Store like Wal-Mart. Wanted to update, my opinion has not changed much, I tried the chicken cutlet and it was not good. I did also go back a second time and still recommend their produce and wine section but that is about it. The meats still look bad, I even tried the special pork chops which I tried to eat the day after I bought them and they were rancid. Definitely will only be going here for the produce and wine. read more

After paying for my purchase I asked the cashier if it was right because the total price was so low, I thought she may have forgot something. I am not impressed with this store after three visits. The cashier's never greeted us or said one word to us. The store was dirty along with the carts full of trash. The prepackaged beef looked terrible. The shelves are not kept organized or stocked. Overall I am very disappointed with this store and tried three times to see if it improved. I would the weekly meat prices.....if I could ever get it! You basically have to get The only problem is that you have to get there early in the first day of the sale to get the best meat deals; otherwise, you're out of luck! I got a text alert from lidle 2 weeks ago on a Saturday morning for the filet mignon. I got there at 11:00 and no filet! Same thing this weekend with the chicken wings. Rain check? No luck. So...You have to keep coming back to see if the truck arrives and if you're lucky enough for them to "get" rain checks on items, you have to keep coming back to see if you can get a rain check too! Sorry...too much trouble for me. The produce is ok except the avocados which are always are rotten inside. Great prices for their brands. Like all of these stores you have to learn which of their products are good so you have to pay for a few duds until figuring out your formula. If you're willing to get there to get the sales on the first morning of the sales, and you're willing to test out their products knowing you'll have to through away a few you don't like....Once you've figured all this out, there is a lot of money to be saved read more

So disappointing!! I was somewhat prepared for Lidl because I know they also own Aldi. Lidl is a giant company with 10,000 stores worldwide. They are now mounting a fullscale assault on North Carolina, which is fine if it is better. They say that Lidl is more upscale than Aldi, so I had hopes of getting better quality and gourmet items at reasonable prices. What I saw was fair quality produce, just OK. The bakery rates a fail. My jelly donut had a reddish brown spot of raspberry no bigger than a pea. The apple turnover was neither crisp nor flaky. The cinnamon roll was mushy and devoid of cinna-flavor. Prepared meals seem to equate with what you find at Harris Teeter. Meats are vacuum wrapped, accounts for the unappetizing gray color. They have some unusual cuts, like what looked like boneless beef rib meat. And they have some super expensive cuts in the $20/lb range which is out of my budget and I wouldn't spend that much on a vacuum pack of meat in a discount store. Selections are mainly low quality, cheap house brands. Very limited name brands are no bargain. Incongruously, the middle aisles are full of miscellaneous household goods like cheap appliances and gadgets, yard tools, lawn widgets. It almost seemed like they don't have any grocery selection so they fill the space with cheap general merchandise. They do have beer and wine. I chose a moscato at what would have been a great bargain price if it didn't turn out to be flavorless alcoholic grape juice with a fizz. A dollar or so more at another store would have bought me a brand name moscato. Writing this I downgraded them from two stars to one. I just remembered that they keep a low staff level. The produce and bakery are dotted with weighing stations so you can do your own price label of your product. They say "Save time". I say "Make the customer do it so we don't have to give service." And then there is the NO GROCERY BAG checkout. You can bring your own bags from home. They will sell you bags at varying prices. Or you can just juggle your food out to the car. I think in America at our markets, we are used to good service and wide selection. Lidl would have to offer a truly distinct discount to change our habits. This store cannot be my compete grocer. Maybe I will stop in to get a specific product but I could never get my whole list here. MikeG this is my honest opinion. OH...PS: I ride a mobility scooter. Harris Teeter, Food Lion, and Walmart provide electric scooters. Lidl has a wheelchair with a small basket attached. I suspect this is the absolute minimum to meet the ADA requirement. If I don't bring my own personal scooter, I couldn't shop here anyway. Boo to them for this. read more
