I always stock up when I arrive Germany so I have plenty of all the stuff I like in the mini fridge and don't spend 3x for it every night in restaurants.

But since this is just a few blocks from my hotel and 25 hours, figured why not since we arrived late to Munich from Dresden. And they have sandwiches, big German pretzels, as well as great beer AND liquor. What else do you want?

Selection is limited, but ok for milk, mineral water and if you are easily satisfied. Hard liquor is in a locked glass case and the selection is meager. I recommend the much larger, better, and new supermarkets, Edeka and Aldi, a short walk toward Albertplatz, near the Bahnhof Neustadt.

This is a nice Aldi. It located next to the Dresdner Striezelmarkt inside of a mall. During the…read moreholidays, Christmas displays are put up in the courtyard between the mall and a cathedral. This Aldi is well stocked and has a very nice bakery section. Of course, the prices are nice and the quality is excellent. They close promptly at 8 pm
