The girls attend to my weekly request to 'have either a black and white or strawberry milk-shake, always with a smile and willingness to please! Occasionally, I'll add something like a Turkey Reuben, ALL always delicious! This is a great little family spot, where even an old guy can satisfy his sweet tooth! JP read more

I was in the area getting some food and love to support local businesses when I am there, so I went inside and ordered some mint chocolate chip ice cream. The staff is friendly and will give out free samples for people to try. The decor is pretty retro (diner from the 1960's), and this place seems to be pretty popular place among the locals. If in the area, I'd definitely recommend it. Had I not already ordered food elsewhere, I would have tried a sandwich here for sure. Overall, good place. [Review 761] - 9th Review of 2026 read more

have eaten here twice. good food for a good price. went here over the weekend. my wife had the egg salad with fries, I went with a burger and sweet potato fries, my wife enjoyed her sandwich and fries. my burger was a simple burger. the sweet potato fries with brown sugar and cinnamon served with a marshmallow sauce was like eating desert with every fry. place is roomy, clean with a very friendly staff. great for a quick lunch. read more

Stepped in for the first time and was completely blown away by the atmosphere! The young lady at the counter was very sweet and efficient at her job, and was VERY generous with my ice cream scoops! The ice cream here is hands down some of the best ice cream i've ever had, and I look forward to coming back here sometime for dinner! It's pretty affordable, too. 10/10 recommend! read more

Love the food the ice cream and the old time ambiance!!!I bring all visitors there while they are here..

Small cone is NOT small! So many flavors to try. Their chili is excellent paired with any 1/2 sandwich.

I came to Lickity Split Cafe on a recommendation to try their Olive Burger, green olives and Mayo, so I was curious, it was good!!! They had a big sign over the counter, "Because Nice Matters". Good advice in the world today! And they were very nice. Good family style diner! read more

Friendly staff, delicious food, cool back to 50's atmosphere. The restaurant could have used 1 more server to help during lunchtime as service slowed down due to so many clients, but this didn't change the warmth and friendliness of the restaurant personnel. read more

Yum yum yum! Any place that sells Butter Pecan will get rave reviews from me! They do have social distancing measures in place such as "one way in, one way out" and every other table is off limits. Staff were friendly and tended to us immediately. Great experience :-) read more

Delicious homemade ice cream. Chilie always ready to complement a grilled cheese, hot dog or a chicken salad sandwich. Good American food in a friendly atmosphere with a taste of the1950 and 60's on the walls to contribute to the atmosphere read more

What can I say. We are so lucky to have four excellent ice cream shops in one town. Finally tried Lickity Split Cafe after all the great reviews we have read on line and living here in Englewood for six years. Great little ice cream shop with very good and creamy ice cream. So I guess everything is pretty much home made and delicious. I tried the 1/2 chicken salad sandwich, cup of chili and fries. Incredible. Possibly the best fries I have ever had. Had to go back in for the ice cream and it was amazing. A true hidden gem in a world of fast food. read more

Good ice cream and selections. We had the coconut almond with chocolate flakes, candy bar crunch and mango sorbet. We all enjoyed and would return. The "manatee poop" flavor looked like it would be fun for the little ones - blue and green colored vanilla ice cream with malt balls. Friendly staff and reasonable prices too. read more

Nice little ice cream shop near the beach. Good ice cream after a few hours on the beach. I would recommend this spot.

Such a cute little ice cream shop with the best ambiance! The staff was sweet as pie. Will definitely be back on our next visit to placida!

Best ice cream ever. Made in-store. Cheeseburger and double cheeseburger were great and the homemade fries were delicious. Service was good. Ambiance is like a 50s diner complete with juke box. read more

After a visit to this place one phrase is bound to escape your lips, "The diet starts tomorrow." No, seriously. In less than a week spent in sunny warm luscious Florida I made it to this location twice ::hangs head in shame:: The first time we ended up here it was for lunch and a chilly ice cream treat to go (err.. "to split?"). We slid ourselves into the old school Chevrolet inspired booths while admiring the movie memorabilia abound. Our server was an older gentleman who was probably the most efficient waiter I have ever encountered. He spoke quickly and gave great suggestions, no bs. A few groups had arrived in advance of our arrival, but we still didn't wait long. I went for the chef salad - because I KNEW ice cream was in my future. It was decent. Straight forward and not too pricey, but not too special either. It was pretty much shredded iceberg lettuce, ham, turkey, tomato, hard boiled egg, onion, cheddar cheese, and peppers, which I picked off. To top off the meal I had a "single" scoop in a cup to go. Note: on the singles they will do two flavors, truly the best policy for any hand dip ice cream joint worth their snot. I asked the age old question, "Umm.. what is in the Manatee Poop?" (yes, they have an ice cream called Manatee Poop) and I was informed it was simply vanilla ice cream with malted milk balls and some food coloring, thus satisfying my need to act like a child and have ice cream that dyes my lips blue and my adult need to have ice cream that actually tastes delicious. For my 2nd flavor I decided on Oreo. The whole thing was De-LickitySplit-Ish! All of their ice creams are made on site and you can tell due to their fresh flavor and scrumptibility. (For the record, I know I'm making up words) On my last night in town I requested a dessert encore and didn't venture from the first ice cream concoction. Why mess with perfection, anyway? I'm giving LSC 5 stars, though their lunch options are really more of a 3-4. However, the quality of the ice cream, the reasonable prices and staff bump them up to the next level. One suggestion for the establishment is to add a tip jar to the front counter for the staff who do a great job and deserve a little summthin'sumthin extra while they work out their arm muscles scoopin' all that ice cream. read more

Ok so I'd give them a 4.5 if I could. So 4 it is. I've been here many times and love all the flavors up until today! I had the peanut butter cup today and it didn't taste much like it. A great homemade ice cream but it needs to be named something else. Come on out and support the local venues! Homemade ice cream! Let's face it, it doesn't get much better! I visit as much as I can. read more

Very delicious ice cream and great service! Plenty of choices to choose from and all very yummy! I grew up going here many times and always a good experience. Definitely recommend. read more

First time here and it was delicious. To start I had the sweet tea which is made fresh every morning. Great southern style sweet tea. We both had the Hamburger. I ordered onion twigs and mom had the sweet potato fries. Both were very good. The sweet potato fries were sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar with a side of marshmallow sauce for dipping. Yummy. Staff was friendly and service was fast. Will definitely come back. read more

Took the Kids for ice cream last night. Got the chocolate chip and was very disappointed. It was like eating ice cream that was old in the freezer for a long time. They must not be selling enough to be fresh for everyone who gets it. Maybe keeping it cover when they are closed at night would help. Never had that happen in the past with theses guys. read more

This is a wonderful place for a sandwich or ice cream sundaes. Friendly staff, 50's decor. My community has used Lickity Split for luncheon card parties. They are so great to work with. I can't say enough good things about them. They will make boxed lunches of your choice. Everyone should stop in and check it out, you won't be dissatisfied. read more

god tier food and service the best for new people in Florida god ambiance the best I will come back

Great spot for a quick bite and some ice cream, milkshake or float. A variety of flavors to chose from.

Ambiance and great flavors. I enjoyed the service and location. Highly recommendable.

I used to consider this a great place to go for a quick and very good lunch. Unfortunately things have changed. I have gone 3 different times recently and the service was terrible all three times. Today I was one of only of three tables, and it took 10 to 12 minutes before I got a menu and I immediately ordered before the waitress could get away. While waiting for my order I saw 2 young ladies come in and after never receiving notice from a waitress they left. When I did get my food, it was only fair. Nothing like it used to be. In addition, while I was there the older waitress spent her time constantly talking very loud apparently to friends in one of the booths. They could have been across the street and heard her. And it was constant. As I said, I used to love this cafe, but they have seen me for the last time. read more

Came here after my niece and nephews picked it out for dinner. Small little place that is mostly known for their ice cream. We ordered a club sandwich, burger, chicken tenders, Reuben, and a peanut butter and jelly. Everyone was happy with the food.
