They had the equipment to lift the tree off the garage, cut down the remainder of the tree and had the mess cleaned up in less than a day. They chipped up all the small stuff and cut the bigger stuff up so I could split it for firewood. A couple of weeks later had them take down more trees that were dead and threating my power line. Again they did a great job and did more than they were contracted for. Highly recommended

Our project consisted of removing 20+ trees and grinding the trunks and roots down 8". Most of the…read moretrees were pine, dying, dangerously high, and a good number of them were very large. Several of our neighbors recommended Paul Mapes, aka The Tree Dr. Paul worked well with us, came out twice to inspect the trees and finalize 2 quotes - a wish list and minimum package, both were reasonable and better than the other companies we contacted. Due to the weather, the job took about two weeks, and throughout that time communication with Paul was great! We always knew when he was going to be here and what the plan was. The whole team was diligent and very careful to avoid causing damage to our home, fence, grass, and swings. As you can see from the pictures at the below link a good part of the yard was filled with large roots from many of the trees, they did an excellent job removing all those roots. We are grateful to Paul and his team for a job well done, and recommend them to anyone who needs tree work. We certainly will be using them again in the future. I needed quick lawn care to remove high grass from my empty lots in Elmira and Bob was the only one in the area to return my call immediately and complete the work THE NEXT DAY. Overall, the service was speedy and the price was fair, I highly recommend using Orchard Hill for any landscaping needs!

"The customer is always wrong". Hillside insisted I pay a bill for about $280 from November 2022…read morethat they knew was incorrect because it included pruning that was not done. Owner Jim Hoteling in March 2023 told me that my failure to pay their bill raised "a red flag". He refused to send a revised bill and refused to restart service. Subsequently, I estimated the cost of the work that entailed blowing leaves that I myself missed as $150, sent Hillside a check for $150, and hired another landscaping company. Note that back in November I contacted Hillside that their bill was incorrect, but received no response. As I told Hillside, I am the sole caretaker of a terminally ill husband. Hillside's work was average but I wanted to keep them for the sake of continuity in my life of upheavals. I begged them to send a correct bill and restart service. I find their insulting and dishonest behavior to be sick.
