This is a lovely little café bookstore in the pedestrian shopping area of Caen. It has…read morefloor-to-ceiling shelves stuffed with new and used books. There's even a large section of English books. The cafe is upstairs, selling slightly expensive drinks and pastries, but the latter looked homemade yummmmm. The cashier was very pleasant, and in spite of the many customers, took time to cheerfully give directions to another shop when I asked her. Great atmosphere, and the locals love it, too!

The server at the cafe, who my friends and I affectionately called "Mama," will put a smile on your face and give you free cookies if you befriend her ;) Cannot recommend it here enough!
