Last summer we accepted David's proposal to paint our house mid-October this fall. He told us…read moreduring his initial assessment that we would need to cut away all bushes and trees a minimum of two feet from the house. While this was going to require a lot of work on our part, we went ahead, sawing off tree branches, cutting a mature vine to the ground, removing a trellis, etc. As the time drew near, he emailed us from out of the country to say that one of his crew had broken his hand and another was out on family leave for several months. Then last week he emailed us that he had driven by our house and that it appeared to him we were not ready; why he didn't stop to discuss this with us, we have no idea. Today we received an email from him reiterating the two-foot minimum clearance and that having to work around any plantings would take more time than he'd allowed in his proposal--and by the way, his dry rot repairman (one?) was out on leave for the next few months. So, if we wanted to move on to another contractor, he would "completely understand." Now our house outside is in shambles--shrubs tied back, mature plantings cut down, planters out in the yard, etc.--and the rainy season is soon upon us. David: if a job appears to be too involved or would take too much time, just say no in the first place!

Grey Wolf Painting just finished painting our entire exterior, and the experience from start to…read morefinish was exceptional. Julian, the owner, was an absolute pleasure to work with. He provided expert advice on colors prior to the job and checked in daily to ensure everything was going smoothly. His lead, Leo, and his partner were equally fantastic. Because I needed to be home with our dogs, their communication was a lifesaver. They checked in every morning to outline the day's plan, let us know exactly when it was safe to let the dogs out in the back, and gave a wrap-up at the end of each day so we always knew what to expect the next day. They also took extra care and attention on the areas of the house that take the brunt of the harsh afternoon sun, which was a huge priority for us. The entire crew was kind, courteous, professional, and demonstrated top-tier communication throughout the project. I highly recommend Grey Wolf Painting to anyone looking for top-quality work!

Julian came out for the estimate and, like any good contractor, immediately discovered that our…read morehouse had secrets -- specifically, a dry rot situation that had clearly been living its best life undetected for years. Once his crew started digging in, the rot turned out to be more than expected (because of course it did), leading to repairs that were, let's say, "character-building" in scope. But here's the thing: his guys knocked it out of the park. After the repairs, the painting was equally impressive -- clean, careful, and thorough. We have enough trees and landscaping to make a crew quietly weep, and not a single shrub was harmed in the making of this paint job. We will be using them again for the inside!

Brian's choice was preferred by everyone who saw the color samples, so that's the shade we choose and it was perfect! He was prompt and finished the job on time too. At the conclusion, he noticed some areas that he felt should be touched-up, that we hadn't even noticed and retouched those immediately. We highly recommend Brian.

He took the time to walk around the house with me, answered all of my questions, and paid attention to the little details that others seemed to overlook. That gave me a lot of confidence that I was choosing the right team. The results completely exceeded my expectations. They matched my existing house color perfectly and updated the trim to complement the existing gutters, giving my home a fresh, clean, finished look. I honestly can't get over how much better my house looks. It's amazing what a difference a quality paint job can make (at a budget-friendly price point too). What impressed me even more was how quickly they got everything done without sacrificing quality. The crew was professional, hardworking, respectful of my property, and clearly took pride in their work. Every day they showed up ready to work, and the finished product speaks for itself. My husband works graveyard shifts, so taking on a project of this size ourselves just wasn't realistic. Hiring John and his team was one of the best decisions we've made for our home. They made the entire process easy and stress-free, and the craftsmanship is outstanding. If you're looking for an honest, detail-oriented painter who delivers exceptional results, I wholeheartedly recommend John Schoettler Painting.
