Never thought it would be SO hard to get answers out of him. First, I asked if I could send him pictures. He said yes. Then, he said he has to come by to look at it. Fine. He said he would try for Monday morning at 9:30am. Around 12 I asked him if he had a quote. He hadn't come by yet, he said maybe between 4-5. Around 6pm I checked in to see if he had come by and he said workers were still stuck and probably not today. I asked for Tuesday morning and he said "let me get my notes from today and I will let you know." Tuesday morning, I reach out to him. No response. Around 9am, sent another message and he says he's going to try between 4-5pm. Around 4:40pm, i ask if he came, and he said he's on his way and will be there in 15 minutes. THEN, he tells me what budget I had in mind and continues to tell me that they are in the competition rate with others. I was like does that mean you're pricey and he goes yes. So I get it, he doesn't want to do the work and I say that. He then claims that he took time out of his schedule to come and check out the lawn. I've had it with this guy and tell him I'm done with him. He then continues to send me a few more messages saying he's only a few minutes away, he can take a look, blah blah blah. Then he apologies for being busy this week. I am all about customer service. I understand you getting busy, but you can't even follow up? On top of that, you give me the 3rd degree and say we're a pricey company and that you took time out of your schedule? No thanks, moving on to someone who will provide their customer with respect.

In a neighborhood where the HOA rules with an iron fist, that's an important quality. (2) They give good value for the money. Their prices have been reasonable since the beginning of our association and have risen only as the cost of living has risen. (3) They truly care about how my yard looks, often performing small extra services that were not included in our original agreement. They keep my unruly ivy trimmed so it doesn't take over the yard. They remove leaves from my deck (in addition to removing them from the rest of the yard). They clean up fallen tree branches and generally keep the yard clear of debris. They keep the shrubs in front of my house shaped and looking good. (4) Details matter to D&G. They know I have a dog, and they never fail to close the gate when they leave. That may seem small to you, but it's a big deal for me. (5) The service is family owned, family operated, and based locally. Since I rent this home in Montclair, Glenn communicated brilliantly with Aaron my landlord and me constantly!! I needed more hand holding but Glenn never was frustrated!! He was always professional and kind and reassuring with both of us!! Glenn repaired the roof from a downed tree and replaced the siding on the house. The shed was resided and the roof shingles also replaced all to coordinate with the house!! Glenn explained all details to me! The shingles and siding were by Certainteed a high quality brand. I was especially pleased that he replaced the gutters!! May sound unusual to like gutters so much but these new ones were upgraded to 6" and have oversized downspouts And leaf guards!! The workers were also outstanding- professional, knowledgeable and every detail attended to, including clean up. Glenn was on site regularly to check on the work and to give me updates.
