This is one of the most scenic harbors I've had a chance to visit. It has so much to offer for every age group from babies to senior citizens. There's a quiet picnic area, a play area for the kids, a sandy beach, decent restrooms, a nice marina, a restaurant at the marina, plenty of parking, beautiful boats to look at, a scenic walkway where you can gaze at Lake Huron on one side and the harbor on the other.
The beach is perfect for swimming and sunning. You may even see some of the older kids jumping into the lake from the huge boulders that are all along the walkway leading out to Lake Huron.
The ducks, swans and birds are a sight to behold as they swim with their families in the harbor.
The town of Lexington is a short drive or walk from the harbor and offers some interesting stores to browse in and restaurants that are welcoming and friendly. Do you want some fudge or ice cream? It's all right here! There are stores for everyone to wander into and browse around in and get lost in the day. It's not a big town, so it's easy to cover it all in a matter of hours. But allow enough time to take it all in.
This is Pure Michigan at it's finest and a must see for our state. A wonderful, picturesque gem! read more
